There was a brief stint where I was selling pastries and other cooked goods to my coworkers, and this was one of the more popular items on my little menu. I used some fresh blueberries that my boss was growing in her garden at the time, and I used lemon zest and juice to give it just a hint of tartness. The crust is based on a medeival pie crust recipe I learned about that uses saffron infused water to make. It’s pretty flakey and buttery and contrasts nicely with the sweet/tartness of the filling I think.

Seeing this makes me wish I could put together a comic series featuring my dragon teaching some recipes...
