Itβs Puppy again, from furry_musicians
Another year, another Express Yourself Contest! This year, however, we tried something different.
Instead of having one general contest, we ended up breaking the EYC into episodes to focus on excellence within different genres of furry music. This first part was classified as Electronic-Forward music!
A second part, Instrumental-Forward music, is on its way! Follow us on Bluesky HERE or on FAβs very own Furry Musicians to know when submissions for Episode 2 begins!
And now, without further ado, EYC 2026 Episode 1βs top three!
In third place, an invigorating synthline surfs the raw sine waves of a dark and brooding sonic landscape. The track itself is restless: ever evolving, ever moving, like a dark fog punched through with neon lights flying by as you joyride through a stretch of dead highway. Love at first listen for this year's panel of judges!

In second place, like the sun finally setting on a dark and dreary day, a vibrant nightlife surfaces, scintillating with optimism and blazing with the telltale signs of turning a new leaf. Clean vocal samples and masterfully balanced layers earmark the most professionally mastered submission our panel of judges rated this time around!
UnisonProtogen / 'Letting Go'
In first place is an electrifying EDM piece that can easily be at home in any high octane DJ set. The universal compatibility does not end there, however, as it is in the lyrics at the heart of this creation, too. Push through, fight back, and overcome those who would dare do you harm. You are a survivor.
Melodinumbra / 'Survivor'

I had a blast making my song for the contest and I'm glad people enjoyed hearing it!
I'm "only" a musician, not a composer, but it would definitely be fun to collaborate with other furs on something someday...
