• Biography: Kumiko is one of the many ½ Mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena, being born a day after Rhodos was born, making her part of the 1st line of ½ Mermaids born to the family. Kumiko is one of the handful of ½ Mermaids who surpass her mother Palutena in terms of bust size, being a K-Cup, but being 1 inch bustier than her mother. Like so many in her family, Kumiko grew up with the notion of being a hero like her father is. While she respected Takako & Yumiko’s decision to become ninjas, Kumiko’s more chivalrous spirit felt conflicted to follow in the footsteps of the ninja. Instead, she opted to fight as the more honorable Samurai. Kumiko took it onto herself to study the samurai lifestyle, fighting methods, and the Bushido Code in which they lived by. She soon moved into weapons training and, knowing that samurai used more than just a katana, Kumiko learned how to fight using an Odachi, Naginata, Yari, Ono, Kanabo, a Tanegashima, and so much more. However, she also added a couple modern day guns to her arsenal as well to mix things up. Either way, Kumiko’s training landed her in a position to help defend the peace of the Dragon Ball multiverse, which is what she had been shooting for. Since then, she’s been defending the peace of said Multiverse, and her home of Olympus when needed. As is to be expected from those in Juni’s family, Kumiko is a very friendly girl, inheriting only the best traits from her parents. Kumiko is as chivalrous & honorable as a knight should be but has proven to be rather stoic at times. However, she showcases an undeniable motherly side to her which makes her popular with children, as her own kid siblings can openly attest to. She’s a big fan of Japanese Cuisine, but while she is not big on Fugu due to its potentially poisonous nature, Kumiko does not like the taste of Chinese food. However, Kumiko has stated that she has nothing against Chinese food, she says it “just isn’t for her.” Like a handful of her sisters, Kumiko is a proven absolute mudlark, and she will not hesitate to throw herself into a quicksand pit the moment she spots one. She also gets excited when signs of quicksand are discovered in the area she is exploring. The best at growing cherry blossom trees.
• Abilities: Being ½ Mermaid, Kumiko is capable of transforming into her mermaid form the moment she enters the water. As a mermaid, like all her other ½ mermaid siblings, she has excellent swimming speed, can breathe underwater without the need to surface for air; though she & her other sisters form gills to help with this, too, and she can commune with aquatic creatures of any kind. However, she primarily transforms while in either fresh or seawater. And like her mother & siblings, Kumiko strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming. Kumiko follows the way of the samurai. She packs more attack & defensive power than her sisters who’re ninjas and to add to this, Kumiko has access to stronger weapons as well. She uses both traditional Samurai weapons, and modern-day Japanese firearms, giving her a mixed fighting style. Kumiko is certainly fast on her feet and is able to keep up with a number of other fast fighters as well. Though she prefers fighting with her weapons, Kumiko does have knowledge of basic karate as well. In addition, she uses Ki based attacks as well, though she doesn’t have very many ki attacks at the moment. Her weapons & techniques are as follows.
o Azure Dragon Katana: A custom-made katana with an azure finish. This blade is not only a work of art, but also wicked sharp to the point where it can slice through bone with ease. Its dragon motif is all across the blade and on the handle as well.
o Azure Odachi: A sword that is bigger than the katana and packing deadly power. This great sword is unwieldy in tight spaces, but in open areas, it is a force to be reckoned with.
o Wakizashi: A short sword that is weaker than the katana, but it helps in a pinch.
o Tanto: A sharp knife used if enemies are too close for proper sword strikes. However, it sets enemies up for being struck by Kumiko’s katana via an iaigiri strike.
o Jumonji Yari: A spear with a strong thrusting strength. It can rip enemies off mounts with ease if hooked just right before delivering a fatal stab.
o Black Naginata: A different type of spear that makes for a good slasher in addition to stabbing. Its reach keeps enemies at bay. Its Black Tortoise motif gives it a guard that can come forth at will.
o Kanabo: A club laced with stubbed spikes that makes for a potent bludgeoning weapon. This weapon can deal serious damage to the battle armor worn by the Frieza Force.
o Ono: An axe forged for battle. Kumiko actually has two of these one-handers, and she wields them with little effort, and she can strike with deadly force while using them.
o White Yumi: A long bow used for firing arrows at great distance. Its white tiger motif allows its arrows to be fired at lightning speed.
o Vermilion Shuriken: Throwing stars with a Vermilion Bird motif. These stars can boomerang back to Kumiko if they miss hitting a target.
o Kusarigama: The dreaded chain & sickle. The chain itself is weighed with a heavy sharp serrated blade that can inflict terrible damage to enemies if it hits an enemy just right. The Kama on the other end is used to deliver fatal slashes after pulling an enemy up close.
o Tanegashima: A matchlock gun that boasts some good punch to it and can pierce armor with its shots. However, while strong, reloading the gun takes time, so Kumiko does not use it often. When she does though, she never misses her target.
o Bajo-zutsu: A matchlock in pistol size. It’s weaker than the Tanegashima, but again, reloading takes some time, so it rarely gets used.
o Revolvers: A handgun that can easily get 6 shots in before it needs to be reloaded, making it faster than the Bajo and more reliable as well. She primarily uses a Type 26 Revolver, though she also has a New Nambu M60.
o Pistols: These are semi-automatic handguns that shoot faster than the revolvers do and can get more shots in as well. She primarily uses a Nambu Pistol, but she also carries a Type 96 Nambu as well, and a Hamada Type Pistol.
o Rifles: A long gun that boasts equal power to the Tanegashima but is easier to reload than the Tanegashima, so it tends to be more reliable in long term fights. Kumiko only has a Murata Rifle, and a Type 99 Bolt-Action rifle, though she later gets her hands on a TERA rifle.
o Shotguns: Easily Kumiko’s most powerful gun. They can fire off shot & slugs for depending on the situation. She uses both the Smith & Wesson models 1000 & 3000, and she also carries the double-barreled Browning Citori, and Cynergy Shotguns.
o Ki Blast: The basic energy wave attack.
o Sword Beam: Kumiko charges ki into one of her swords and unleashes a powerful blade of energy that slices through almost anything it comes into contact with.
o Full Power Energy Ball: A powerful energy ball attack that deals great damage. Kumiko uses the double ball variation.
o Finger Beam: A thin energy beam fired from the index finger.
o Scatter Finger Beam: A thin energy beam fired from all 5 fingers.
o Kamehameha: The signature energy wave technique of the Turtle School. Kumiko has access to the Super variation as well.
o Samurai Soul: Kumiko uses this to trigger a transformation into what she calls the “Super Samurai.” In this form, her strength increases 50-fold, and she can compete with more powerful opponents as well. Her armor turns golden and gives her a huge defense boost, and her weapons benefit from the transformation as well. For instance, her katana will always fire sword beams when swung, and her tanegashima can shoot indefinitely so long as Kumiko remains transformed.
o Stardust Genmu: “By my honor now/Let my blade cleave right from wrong/And punish the sinned. Stardust Genmu!” Kumiko’s ultimate blast. Though she only uses it when in Super Samurai form. She charges up energy into her katana before unleashing a rainbow sword beam at the enemy. The beam slices through the target before seeing them split into two and begin shriveling into stardust particles moments later. It is not as strong as her father’s Seraphic Genmu, but it’s close.
