Providence has smiled in at least one aspect. Unemployment did not just come through, it came through with back weeks, meaning I was able to pay the rent in one fell swoop. It only took them like 4 months to admit I was unemployed, right? Only a single month of backpay, but I'll take what I can get. Rest of the month might be dicey but manageable.
Interview ghosted me. There's a sort of gaslighting where they said "The interview was actually at this time, but I had an emergency so it's okay" that concerns me. Making up a scenario where everyone is not at fault is well intended, but also refusing to accept reality. Hopefully it is just the HR person like this and not the company at large.
