This started out as a fairly straightforward photo of a White Tiger that I took at the West Midland Safari Park in 2009. I loaded it into GIMP and got a bit carried away messing around with the filters! In the end, though, I rather liked how it ended up. The diagonal lines (from wire fencing) annoyed me at first, but now I think they frame the tiger's body quite nicely.
I ummed and ahhed for quite a while about whether to put this under Photography or Digital Art. Obviously it was a photo to start with, but it's been digitally manipulated so much that I think it probably fits better in the Art category now.

I think it looks vaguely like a patterned carpet. Not much like one, perhaps! But yeah, I see what you mean about lino. A shame there's no Photomanipulation category, since that would have been the obvious one. Even so, I may do some more experimenting in GIMP and see what I can come up with. =:)
