I kind of imagine that Hazel - as described in the first paragraph - feels calmer and more optimistic about things because of her return.
Absolutely. When things looked as if they might get out of control, if you remember, Hazel did actually briefly consider stepping down as Chief Rabbit. He definitely really missed Hyzenthlay, especially in a situation like that.
I'm picking up just the tiniest hints that Silver isn't all that keen on the new arrival...
*Grins* You could say that... it's really just that Silver is the sort of "professional soldier" Owsla rabbit who feels that respect ought to be shown to Chief Rabbits, and that the newcomer's easy-going manner is going a little bit far. =:P

Well, he doesn't appear in WD itself. However, he does turn up in a tale told by Strawberry in chapter 2 of a little story called Blackavar's Gift... =;)
