The final page of my cartooning final, Shattered Innocence, but clearly not the end of Nestle's story.
One of the big moments that I had drafted out in the earliest stages of this comic was the transition between the bottom panel of the previous page and the top panel of this page. I wanted to show not only the passing of time, but also the sense of innocence lost. It's not a hopeless look, as Nestle clearly has ambitions, but I wanted to make it clear that a spark in her eyes is gone now.
Also, Nestle fighting that particular demon was one of the first scenes I'd ever written up for her over a decade and a half ago. Getting to finally draw that out properly, even if the context and setting now is way different, was especially satisfying. I still need some practice with drawing swords, though...
Oh, and if folks are curious about what city Nestle is overlooking and why that's significant to the overall story, I'll do my best to remind you all later with another comic that I'm currently working on. This one hopefully more cheerful and fun ;)
It was a lot of fun portraying my world and my characters in this way and seeing everybody's thoughts and reactions to it. I love making stories and exploring characters, and it really does make me happy to see people respond well to that. Thanks everybody for powering through the sadness of this comic to get here! I hope to do more comics in the future and share them here :)

I liked this comic a lot when i first saw it on twitter but its even better with your commentary in the description~ i think you did an excellent job at merging the light and the dark, cute and colourful characters with serious and frightening themes. The idea of having tickle torture be traumatic to someone amongst a cast of characters who are very prone to it is a great setup to drama~ And being familiar with cute critters' trauma just makes it much sweeter to see them in happier and more fun contexts at other times :D
Your stories/characters are reminiscent of Don Bluth or Brian Jacques - a cutesy furry cast facing genuine drama and interesting personal conflict~ I'm looking forward to whatever you do for your next comic, whether it be sad or fun :D

2000+ years and she still can't stop thinking about the witch's face. Hopefully she can fix this curse in this town... in a way or another.
That part where she hopes to find the guy before Valerie does... reminds me of Trigun, where Vash tries to find the only relative of the surrogate mother that raised him.
Hopefully it won't end exactly like that, since Knives killed the relative...
I only hope she can find a moment where she can unwind. I mean, if she manages to make Valerie pay... what else can she do after that moment? Nestle needs a hug. ;_;
