Uploading a little more of my comic assignments/experiments here, since there seemed to be some interest!

This was my first real attempt at a comic using varied panel sizes and layouts. The goal, in fact, was to use several different sizes of panels to convey the story. I also had to work with the theme of 'relationships'. I racked my brain for a long time on this one, but I ultimately decided on making a comic about Ben and Charlotte, a favorite couple within my cast. I wanted to make the story a little personal too, so I tried to give them a situation that I was familiar with myself from dating girls of a different race than my own. It's not the most cheerful topic, but I feel like it made the emotions and reactions of the characters feel more genuine for me.

This project was a ton of fun. I loved doing the different panels and expressions and letting the characters just talk and show their personalities a bit :) It was also nice to flesh out my world a little with some background.

Also, I'm a sucker for relationships in stories, both friendly and romantic, so that made this even better for me to focus on ;)
