Hey, my 800th submission!
Last page of Installment 60 finds Tali catching up to the generally drenched Brianna, expertly throwing open the front doors as she pulls up right next to her and beckoning her aboard. I'm sure she'll take her up on her offer . Meanwhile in the back, Genevieve is about to step off to replace Bri's walk-on role, and Nei'chelle is suddenly awaiting an artist she's commissioned for some rather lewd piccies. Timelines can be confusing sometimes...
Technical:
This was probably the most time-consuming page to process, not only with the shadowing and lighting of interior shots in the bus, but also the rain effects on the exterior shots, which oddly enough were also a factor in the last comic I did, the Jesse's Trail Trouble commission. Much of this page is also comprised of pencil-on-paper drawings, some of the last I did this way before going all-digital. Two pencil versions of this page along the original storyline had to be abandoned with the change of direction of the story, and the third version actually had the first panel taking up the top 2/3 of the page. With the switch to digital, I was able to shrink this to 1/6 of the page before inking, and add one more exterior shot before combining what would have been a fourth page into this one, where the bus pulls up alongside Brianna and throws open its doors.
The third panel was originally a head-on shot of Brianna with the bus coming up the street behind her out of the mist and rain, but this introduced problems with the forced perspective and backdrop, so I ended up making a full-sized replacement in another document, swinging the camera around to look at Brianna from the side. While this did introduce more complexity in the form of the hedge in the foreground, the house and trees in the background, and the ever-present torrential rain and wetlook effects on Brianna's shirt, it was easier to make 'look right' after I imported the inks and flats seperately into this page, introducing all the fiddly-work of shrinking and then aligning the two layers before appplying shading, highlights and rain effects. If anyone seeing this also follows the "
Skidd and
Phuufy's Sanctuary" discord server, I posted a larger WIP of this panel in their #share-your-art-sfw board, but lacking oversized 'tiddies', it was promptly ignored 9_9).
All-in all, I think this was the most intricate comic page I've ever attempted (not that that's saying much compared to some others I've seen) but hopefully I won't have too many more like this, as I still have those new characters to introduce.
Combination pencil/paper and digital drawings, composited, inked and colored in Clip Studio Paint EX. 26 layers including text balloon objects, 24.5MB .CLIP file. Part of Project ID# 264 (Pg#87)

Funny you should mention that...while posting this, I was thinking about how Gen would see their departure in a later page, and one thought was (after they disappeared offscreen) was having her say "Well, I guess it would've been silly to expect flaming tire tracks..."
I don't blame them for that--I kinda expected the pic to be passed over, given the tastes of the audience. Basically
Iskra-level artwork, or Kibbles-class boobs are what 'bring the boys to the yard' there.
I contemplated adding to my own Discord presence to build a small community around my own creations, as a self-selected audience would have more engagement. I think I need to get farther along in this comic to make that feasible. (although there's certainly enough precedent for posting not-yet-ready-for-primetime material, experimental sketches, or impromptu Pfuufy-style doodles)

Something like that was in the back of my mind when I did this, but I figured that I could handwave the power supply being it's a Temporal Corps modification. I do make a reference to it in the second page of the next installment (being sketched at the time of my reply).
A trolleybus having an auxilliary motor is something I thought might exist, but I hadn't researched them at the point this came together, as the specific type of bus was MMM's request :)
