roochak's Genevieve makes her grand entrance...in the back of a bus about to swoop in to the 'rescue' of the hapless Brianna, caught in a sudden rainstorm while on her way to...well nobody knows anymore--her timeline has been diverted out of this story.
Some background: at the time I was crafting this part of the comic,
MorriLeFay's "Brianna" (seen in full-body form five pages back) starred in a lot of NSFW commissions related to her owner's prolific erotic writing, so much so that I thought she would be an ideal seductress of one of my male OC's. With her permission, I added Bri in a walk-on role that was to divert her into my OC's residence behind Nei'chelle thanks to a sudden rainstorm. Permitted to take shelter, the two get to know one another, followed by Nei'chelle hatching a plot to seduce Roland (if you hunt farther back in my gallery, one of my few NSFW works depicted Nei'chelle in the afterglow of self-pleasure while looking at a pic of him), with the horny duo luring him into Nei'chelle's bedroom after which both would have their way with him.
That didn't happen though. Brianna's owner encountered some RL adversity, and whatever it was prompted her to clear her gallery and disappear. Given the circumstances, had I completed the aforementioned X-rated shenannigans, I might've been asked to remove those pages, so it may be fortunate that I took so long to get around to this. Instead, I employed a trope called "Put On a Bus".
Literally.
Employing
Major Matt Mason's Tali Hartoh-Mason, who is canonically a 'time cop' in service of the Temporal Corps in her universe, I crafted a story element that has Tali swoop in and swap out Brianna for
roochak's Genevieve (seen above), an erotic artist by trade. As part of the scene, Tali is operating a modified AM General SEPTA trolleybus, an element of Mitch's native Philadelphia (but without the overhead wires, hence the 'modified' part :D ). And boy can she handle it, whipping it around the corner in pursuit of Brianna, who just happens to be in desperate need of a ride right about now...
Technical:
This page is a late insert into the sequence (hence its filename indicating "60-1a"), digitally sketched out on a whim in 9/2020, I had Gen standing in the stepwell of the rear exit door, but dissatisfied with the layout, redrew her where she is now, hanging onto a seat railing as well as her portfolio as the bus leans over in a hard turn. The challenges here involved lighting...since the bus was being lit from both sides in the omnidirectional light of a rainy day, I had to think long and hard where I was going to place shadows in the bus backdrop. Still not sure I got the lighting right, but 'finished is better than perfect' or something like that.
Digital drawing (2020-21) done in Clip Studio Paint EX. 22 layers, including text/word balloon objects. 24MB .CLIP file. Part of Project ID# 264 (Pg#86)

History lessons galore :D
I figure that detailing the behind-the-scenes stuff gives some perspective on how I handle the characters I draw and the material I place them in. Like I say on my homepage, they (descriptions) may be at times long-winded, but they give you a picture of what went into...the picture, and what made it happen. How many other artists give you that much?
