Twenty-three years ago today, on December 19th 1997, Tomorrow Never Dies was released in North America and a number of other territories! (Addtionally, the gala premiere of TND was on Dec 9th, which was the same day as the Thunderball premiere, 32 years prior.)
In honour of that, I now present the poster for the Ames Sond version: Tomorrow Never Diessss
I have to say, in the case of this poster, Rigel absolutely went above and beyond. The many 'TV screens' in the background of this poster represent perhaps the most work-intensive element that has ever been featured in any of the Sond posters, and may remain thus, forever.
Several of the background screens deserve to be shown off on their own, and I'll do just that in a scraps upload within the next few days or so!

As for the movie: I know it's pretty low on a lot of people's list of Bond movies, but it's special to me, it's the first one I saw in theatres, after a month of watching all the older ones for the first time, via a TV event that showed them all.
I hope you'll give Rigel some kudos on his post too~

These recreations just make me itch with excitement. I really want to see a 'You Only Live Twice' for all the steamy ladies on it.
The Bond posters give you such a good repository to commission awestriking images from, but what would you say is the least interesting/sexy/cool-looking one? 'A View to a Kill' maybe? Or 'Die Another Day'? (I only did a quick cursory image search to jog my memory just now)
Even if TND is kinda one of the Bond movies that people don't have all that much love for, I have a decent amount of affection for it, as it was the first I saw in cinema, and right after I had first watched all prior entries. But anyway, I'm really into this poster too! So much went into it. I really think Rigel's style fits for this era. Slick, sleek and shiny (whereas the older ones are more painterly, of course).

I've been craving the bath-house poster from YOLT for years now, yesss. For a long time, I imagined one particular artist would do it, but that seems like it won't happen, and I shouldn't hold on to that idea.
Right now, Sirmaril has done a great job on both the movie that comes before YOLT and the one after it - those being Thunderball and On Her Majesty's Secret Service -- or rather, Thundersssquall and On Our Sovereign's Sssecret Service! And since the Thundersssquall poster was also a prime example of a 'bevy of beauties' image, I think Sirmaril will do well with the YOLT one. Also, it will be like a little triptych/trio/trilogy of posters by one artist, in a row.

Not just the posters, but all of the Bond cannon, like frames from the films, or promotional images or book covers, or graphic novels, it's all fabulous fanart fodder. :}

I could perhaps get both separate posters done by two different artists [or the same artist], and then combine them to get the full effect, so to speak.
But yes, there's a reason I haven't had those posters done yet. They don't excite me much, and I used to let artists pick which poster they wanted to do, and no one ever wanted to do D.A.D. One person might have considered AVTAK as a third choice in their list of what they'd pick. :P

Wow! Wonderful. I was sort of secretly hoping that all the Ames Sond stuff could go on ad infinum. :P I'm feeling fanboyish when I say it, but Ames Sond just has an intrinsic charm to it that I can't resist getting excited at when I see it. I had to jump the gun when I saw this amazing art pop up on your page, the temptation came up when I saw the Thundersssquall, but TNDsss made me break.
And holy moly you were ready with the researched images of posters/graphic media. Of course, you have it all planned out as the mastermind you are.
Ames Sond could go on forever, indeed. Even if Bond material stopped being made by people IRL and then I somehow re-made ALL Bond things into Sond things, I could then just make wholly original Sond material! Haha
Also: Ahh, I see! Have fun reading that book! It's very very similar to the book. With it being only the second movie, they were still keeping everything near to Fleming's work [and, I mean.. Fleming was still alive at that point, too].

I assume you spotted the Sondified Elliot Carver in the background [both upper corners]?
The cyberterrorist was 'Henry Gupta', played by the late great Ricky Jay [comedian, magician, and cardistry expert]. Originally, the character was going to be an indian tech wiz, probably younger, but when they got Ricky, they left the name the same and said he was American, and had begun as a student radical in the 60s.

It's no great secret, though: He's a skunk.
Hmm, not sure how I missed that scene. I'll put that with the Thundersquall scenes I am hoping to get time to read soon (I'm doing my clean out my FA backlog thing again, but holding the stories for a bit so I can actually get through the backlog before it gets out of control again).

I also have a high-stakes gambling scene at a private party that's not based on any movie, which I should write for.
I have one other Sond picture that's not based on any existing movie, as well.
Other than that, I'm all caught up on the art I have being written for, and posted. Oh wait, I have something from The Sssspy Who Loved Me, too. But that's it!

For the future, I of course need to get the other 7 or so posters that are left to get, including NTTD. I don't know why, but I often think about who I should hire to draw the 'Sssspy Another Day' poster. I mean, I don't think about artists for other posters, just that one, and I don't know why. I don't like that movie all that much. Maybe I just want to buy the simpler version of that poster [the one that's just James and Jinx] and get it over with, instead of the more complex one, with almost all the characters represented.

Oh, and I feel the need to correct you: That's not just a 'cat', it's a puma!
About Carver: Pryce just plays it so perfectly hammy, you can see the madness dripping off of him, it's great.
Even Paris didn't deserve to be assassinated when Carver wanted her and Bond dead to cover up the terroristic plans. :O
The idea of manipulating the ship into Chinese waters and the way they manipulated both the Brits and the Chinese into thinking the other had attacked them: that was a great bit of espionage, a great set-up for a spy plot.
Also, let's not forget the world's most secured car before its demise (not just being sawed in half in the other film) and Dr. Kaufman's humorous conversation with Bond when he tries to prove his "professional" jobs and "ingenious" logic. XD
