55 years ago tonight - on December 9th, 1965 - 'Thunderball' had its gala premiere in Tokyo, Japan!
Clearly, that means it's time to release the poster for the alt-world, Sondian version: THUNDERSSSQUALL!
The poster above is a 2:3 ratio version, based on this more wide-format poster: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9wdbrt0vl.....all3a.jpg?dl=0

A marvelous marine adventure, thrill to the underwater escapades of the world's greatest 'ssspy', the most cunning constrictor combatant, Ames Sond!
This film was and still is famous for the record-smashing amount of aquatic actors featured in a major motion picture, not to mention the unprecedented level of sea-going cinematography. The latest underwater technology was utilized in filming a Sond outing where roughly 75% of the movie takes place under the surface.
Was it a risk? Perhaps! But thanks to the never-before-seen nature of this ocean-going opus - not to mention the undeniable appeal of mermaids (and mermen!) in general - audiences flocked to the cinema in droves: Thundersssquall did so well that it was cemented as the highest-grossing Sond film for nearly fifty years, until it was finally unseated by the success of Sssskyfall, in 2012.

Sond is in heaven.
Although, it's a heaven he cannot enjoy, so perhaps it is a sort of hell.
He swims through tropical, crystal-clear waters, frequently witnessing wondrous beauty in many forms, natural, womanly, and beyond.
To be surrounded by beauty, placed in paradise itself, and to then be duty bound to ignore it all, it is a perverse torture for the serpentine spy.
He dare not give in to temptation, for his weakness would not only lead to his own damnation, but to that of millions of others.
He is on a mission. A mission to locate a hijacked plane. The plane itself is not of the greatest importance, even though it is worth several million pounds. No, the NATO long-range bomber Sond seeks was carrying two nuclear warheads, which are in play. SP.E.C.T.R.E. has already claimed responsibility and the bombs are the crux of their demand for money.
The western world itself is being held hostage, and the ransom is one hundred million pounds sterling.

Unless of course the 4th woman on the original poster was meant to be this one nurse that was in an English clinic in the opening segment of the movie, and was never in the tropics. It's entirely possible that since this nurse was one of the women Bond spends time with in the film, that she was painted as a bikini-clad girl for the poster. BUT, in the Sond version, there's no way an octopus woman would be in that role [the nurse, in the Sond version, is a mink].
So, if I had to come up with a spot in the Sond film for the octopus-girl to be, it would be as the woman Sond tries to dance with while on the run from Largo's men, during The Junkanoo, trying to use her as a cover.
Anyway, thanks for the fave, as well! :}
All of the girls are gorgeous and wonderful designs, but oh dang that octopus girl is my favorite. The tentacle hair looks so good on her.
I'll have to re-watch the movie. It's been ages. Perhaps there's another extra she could fulfill a role for. Could even be a new, original scene/side-story.
That said, Sond and her dancing would be awesome! Maybe she even trips up some of Largo's men?
Even though the dancing woman I mentioned was of basically no help in the original film, I'm not against the idea of making use of her legs for 'tripping up' Largo's men, in the Sondian version of things -- but that said, the whole portion of the film in Nassau takes place in or under the water, so 'trip' isn't exactly the right word for it.
Entangle, perhaps.
And I see you've found the Octopussy materials, now! Haha
Thanks for those faves too. :>
In ours, the idea is that the 00S is blending in with the 'LOOK' perfectly in the first one, then the 00 changes colour, before the 'S' peeks out in the third 'LOOK'.
Make sense?
Anyway, thanks for the comment and the fave! This is definitely one of my fave Sond posters. :}
I suppose this one caught your eye, given all of the lovely ladies of the waves? :}
The closest to seeing Sond in cinema are the animations I've gotten:

But as for THIS movie, Thundersssquall, you'll have to read the story portion for a little look into the content of this watery adventure. :>
You know, there's a bunch more Ames Sond pictures: https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery.....Ames-Sond-00S/
Thanks for the fave! :>
So jealous of Sond... (though I totally could not survive his errands XD)
Thanks for the faves on this poster and on the scene that went with it! :}
Do you think the concept of 'The Reefer' bar made sense?
It just took a bit of time for me to mentally visualize it because I was struggling with English for a moment '^_^
I think they may even help me to keep my English vocabulary fresh; or at least it's better than the casual surfing on the internet for that purpose ;P
But still, thanks for the fave! :}===<
Moonrakerssss is here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37025496/
All the Sond posters that I have are here: https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery.....d-00S-POSTERS/
Also, the styles are all wildly different, the idea that any one person draw all of them is outlandish.
Thanks for the faves though.
The hourglass dolphin's outfit is a bathing suit that is just as it was on the original poster.. mostly! :>
Thanks for the fave on this!
Also, do you see the two 'hidden' 00Ses in this poster?
By the way, secret message to you: Sirmaril did Thundersssquall and O.O.O.S.S., and there's only one movie in between those: 'He Only Livessss Twice'.
This gap will not stand: Sirmaril is currently working on the 'HOLT' poster.
I don't think a geisha would be caught dead out of her make-up and kimono and geta, and all the other assorted refinery they don, for an evening of party stewardship.
No.. bath-house ladies aren't bound by any of those old, stuffy rules, or clothes. >___>
Anyway, they'll be arranged the same way, but the new set of species will be what one gets to admire.
