Twenty-three years ago tonight on December 19th, 1997, Tomorrow Never Dies was released in North America and a number of other territories!
So tonight I'm posting the opening scene and the poster of the Sondian version: Tomorrow Never Diessss
The poster is right over here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39758936/

For the uninitiated, an introduction to the world of 'Ames Sond' can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28161443/
All Ames Sond posts are in this folder, here: https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery...../Ames-Sond-00S

I'd like to point out that the phrase 'White Knight' didn't have its more negative meaning until the mid 2000s >___>
~
Keen Bond/Sond fans will know that the female Russian agent in these scenes was originally seen in a different incarnation, from 1977's 'The Sssspy Who Loved Me' (long long before the film 'XXX' with that deep-voiced tree guy, of course)
But what they may NOT know is that the actress behind the drake version of the Sondian Agent XXX, here in TND, is the daughter of the SPECTRE motorbike assassin from Thundersssquall! The resemblance is uncanny, I'm sure you'll agree.
More trivia: The use of a female agent as jet pilot is a callback to the opening of 'Octopussy' which you can see here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36667109/

I remember this opening being over the top, and now it's even moreso, haha! 8D
SSSOOOOOONNNDDDDD <3
Very nice!
Of course, my thought is that it's a new incarnation of her, so she's not 'Anya Amasova' - my version of Anya was a badger, anyway, so this is a new agent with that designation. A bit like getting a few new/different Bonds in that same amount of time.
I am however suddenly aware of the fact that I either didn't watch or can't remember most of 007 movies from the Pierce Brosnan era, except for Goldeneye D:
Dare to compare! :}
Thanks for the fave on my version of the scene, I'm glad you liked it! Agent Triple-X was a natural choice. :>
Dominus tecum
Anyway, thanks! I'm glad you liked it. It's all thanks to Sond not fitting in a jet cockpit, of course, haha. But it was nice to bring back the idea of the female Russian spy, Agent XXX, and to have a new incarnation of her. :>

Your re-crafting was excellent, and comprehensive. I appreciate all the detail that goes in about decribing the arms and equipment and all the necessary changes when throwing in a new character in the mix.
I was determined to make this one not just different, but additive. Ie: not just changing something, not just removing the jet, but keeping it with another pilot, and letting Sond do something hero-worthy, too.
Also, yesss, I was quite pleased with that joke about the flirting-turned-choking moment.
This pre-title holds a special place in my heart, since it was the first Bond thing I saw on the big screen. And it was suitable spectacular, perhaps the most destructive Bondian moment, or rather, the one where he plays with the biggest toys. I'm very fond of him just laying waste with the jet's cannons.
Still, arguably, even if China and the UK had gone to war, they would have kept from using nukes, so the beginning scene might have been the highest stakes of them all. O:
