This is starting to get into a more recent variant of Azira's design. Azira doesn't drink alcohol or use any kind of recreational drug (his species are biologically weak to poisoning, including alcohol), however he does gather ingredients for an acrid and bitter herbal tea that only he seems to enjoy. It's unknown what exactly is in it or what it does, but Azira insists that "it's good for you" and will often make a (usually non-violent) attempt to convince people he likes to drink it.

Other things:
-Azira's eyes appear black in neutral light but are actually very dark red.
-His various piercings such as the silver rings in his right eyebrow are high quality precious metals and are worn partially as a contingency against finding himself without the ability to trade in an emergency.
-Ruled by tyrannical despots, the kutrahl (Azira's species) clans are constantly at war with one another in a shifting landscape of broken alliances and opportunistic power-grabs. Curiously however, any incursion into their territory by humans or other species is invariably met by a temporary cessation of hostilities between the clans who immediately unite to repel the interlopers with furious zeal. After the threat has been crushed under weight of numbers and every survivor chased down and slaughtered, the grand alliance fractures (often over division of recovered loot) and the bitter infighting resumes. Azira was pressed into service as a child soldier for his clan at an early age. The scar on his face is a from his final battle as frontline infantry where he was struck down by a axe thrown by a human. Waking several hours later in a pile of corpses, he managed to crawl off the battlefield and was saved by a mad surgeon who just happened to get it right this time.
-Kutrahl are voraciously omnivorous and will eat just about anything including humans and other races. Cannibalism is frowned upon in most of the clans although not so much as a moral abomination, but more as "something that disgusting, desperate, poor people do." Azira inherited a very no-holds barred attitude from his training and is happy to set upon his own kind if there's no other meat available.

On deviantArt, there was somewhat of a progression as I developed these characters, but now I have the old pictures but the information has all been updated.
