This was a bit of a lighting experiment that I remember I got done a lot quicker than I expected to. It's pretty dark but you can see some of the details of this iteration of Azira. I've stripped him down to one scimitar and started pushing his armour more towards full-assassin rather than a jack of all trades assassin-warrior.
Azira was not actually inspired by the Skaven, I was always too poor for Warhammer and I thought the proportions of the models were unsettling even though the art was great. Azira was actually inspired by the Nezumi from Magic The Gathering's Kamigawa set but he's spun out into my own original setting.
I thought rats were pretty badass, they have this sorta, dirty, scraping, visceral horror to them that I think is kinda cool. Not many animals have killed quite as many humans as rats when you factor in things like the Black Plague.
