Here is that cape/cloak thing I made for my viking costume this past Halloween. Not much to it. I took a fleece-like blanket and folded it over with some hot-glue. Then I added the faux wolf fur along the top, cutting and folding it over to form the neck area. I made sure to put in the strap before hot-gluing it down. Bingo, I got myself a cape.
I planned on using the white short-pile fur just below the wolf fur and down at the bottom but I ran out of time. I also wanted to use leather-like straps but I didn't have any. But it was good enough especially comparing to the first iteration of this old viking costume I did way back in 2013. I think it really adds to the "completeness" look.
This along with all the other improvements I made this year helped me finally win the most creative costume prize at the workplace Halloween contest. Read all about it in my journal here if you haven't caught it yet for all the glorious details.
Anyway, it was quick and simple to make. Despite not getting all the fancy stuff I wanted to do on it, I still liked the overall look. The only other thing I would have liked is mounting a pair of gold or silver looking medallions with a short chain attached to them to the front neck area of the cape to finish it off.
If you want to know more details on how I made this, let me know in the comments and I'll spill the beans for you.

Thanks. I thought I did well especially considering the extreme time crunch. Remaking a previous costume helped but even then it was still a few late sessions to get it at least presentable.
I can't help but to think dressing up for Halloween is a bit like going fursuiting but on a smaller scale. Same sort of fun methinks.
