For this year Halloween, I decided to bring back my old viking costume from 2013 but with more adornments. The first step is to finish the shield like I originally wanted but ran out of time way back then as per my usual. I finally painted that dragon/serpent design on the it that was inspired by a viking based movie. I won't name it just yet as I want to make another free badge contest. The first person who can name that movie in the comments will be spared... I mean win a character badge from dear ol' me. The previous winner is ineligible for this contest. Besides, I already blurted out the answer to him anyway. It should be easy though. For the winner, just keep the design simple as I am still rusty on the art side.
Speaking of arting, I think I did rather well on this. It almost matches a screenshot I took of that movies that shall not be named. I used a darker shade of gray on the background than the movie version but I like it that way. I also used white to make it stand out more. But the rest it very close especially the outline, which I did by eye. I wished I as able to do this when I first made the shield but at least I can reuse it without it being exactly the same. just a few small tweaks and it'll be good to go for this year festivities.
BTW, I have the pics on how I built this thing in my gallery if you want a looksee. It's made from wood and metal and I tried to make it authentic looking as much as possible, almost live action movie quality in my humble opinion. I even hammered out the center disk from a metal bowl. Tell me what you guys think.

Damn, that was fast. I knew i made it far too easy. I forgot to add name the scene when the shield was shown too but I forgot as I tend to do. What was we talking about again? Oh yeah, the contest. Well, since you met the requirement I stated in the post, I am declaring you the winner. Just send me a ref, description or something and I see what sort of monstrosity my grubby paws can conjure up. I probably won't be able to start on this until after the Hollows Eve thing blows over but hopefully before the day of giving thanks but i can guarantee anything.
