Wish-granting Drum...!

Hapless girl turning into stuff

This image comes from a gift commission slot given to me by the sweetheart skunk known as Typhin, and completed by the the wonderful artist and friend Cat-monk Shiro, on one of his regular streaming events. The image entails me locating a far-too-familiar looking spin drum, and being absolutely compelled to play with it. the results are predictable enough... but who actually expects that artifact to be the *one* you are hoping for?
As a result, my head begins to swim, with the echo of the drumbeats ringing in my ears... my... upturning... lengthening... pointing ears? My heart starts to pound rapidly and rhythmically as well, blood rushing through a pulsing, growing frame, changing far faster than I could hope to prepare for as my clothes are obliterated, and yet slow enough to experience each amazing, alien sensation... In fact, whatever I focus on seems to begin to accelerate in its change, leaving me with a rather mismatched rate of growth and mutation.
More than that, the lightheaded sensation and adrenaline rush seem to be smoothing and blending into something else... a giddy, childlike energy rushing through my mind... I hesitate to call it innocence, but its definitely playful and happy go lucky... and as the essence merges with my mind, I find myself more at peace as a beast then I have as a man...
*Shiro did an amazing job with this piece I think. I want to call attention to some of the finer details of the image, including the depth of shading on the clothes to give a sensation of three dimensions, not to mention the growing body underneath. the ridges on the straining chest of the shirt showing the developing belly scales (called scutes) underneath, for example... or the varying degree of tatter on each pant leg, which really illustrates the growth difference in the legs.
The scutes themselves are impressive as well: Shiro could have used the simple, rounded bands for the belly scales, but he took the extra effort to create inverted, prow-shaped scutes, which are tricky to position and shade both. the threads and feather-impaled cloth illustrate quite dramatically the fate of the back of the shirt, and overall, it feels like a wonderful amount of love was put into creating the image. even the drum is rather adorably decorated with flammie fluff and feathers.
Oh, I even learned a few tricks on how to blend the colors in multiple layers in order to create that lovely white to blue tint on the wing and eartips. I will be looking at this and dreaming for quite a long time, I think.
Oh, oh! one more thing... I am working on a flammie transformation story... but I am at bit of a crossroads... should it be an adult (erotic tf) or general audience (detailed tf still, but no erotica)? I should mention it was originally intended as an adult piece, so without a big nudge in the other direction, I'll likely keep it that way.

Of course, I would love it if the drum allowed all those who use it to transform, and since this is based on an "ideal" wish, and not a "trick" wish (like evil genies and such like to do, twisting conditionals in...) I would have the drum capable of changing all those who used it.
Of course... even that's dangerous. What happens when someone evil gets a hold of the drum? imagine a dark army of adorable, fluffy dragon supremacists... heheh....
It seems as though my jaded and cautious nature, mixed with the habit of trying to think of all possibilities in a cause and effect event (for making more feasible stories)... is keeping me from seeing this drum as the perfect solution. Regardless, I think it would create a wonderful and exciting improvement to many lives, even if its not perfect.

Oh... and Typhin was being a brat, and linked this comic to me.

I think it is relevant to you as well, so I hope you like it.... heheh.
so many people can't accept quality in their work. i've gotten to a point where i can at lease say i piece is "good enough" for the moment, but i still always wanna do better
I offered some conditionals to Shiro when he began the commission, and he handled them wonderfully.
Because Flammies are always grinning cutely, even when in battle, I have one of two theories. Either the critter is perpetually spirited and cheerful, despite hazards or problems... Or more likely, it has to do with their physical anatomy. I am considering dolphins in this matter, whose beak-like muzzles cause them to appear to be grinning perpetually.
If my character had full control of his facial anatomy here, he would probably be going or or rather than the ecstatic look he's sporting here... Oh, I'd be fully ecstatic... so much so, that it would put me in a state of shock and disbelief. Aaaallll sorts of conflicting emotions (mostly positive, with some slight nervousness and embarrassment... especially if someone was watching me transform) would make me screw up my face... But the flammie essence, well... It's helping the most positive and hopeful emotions shine through.
Shiro understood all this and got the look on it spot on in the first try. he is quite perceptive, both in an emotional and psychological level, and an artistic level. I'm impressed;)
i just been doing this a long time and practice makes perfect.
As for the art, care to elaborate on that at all? ;P
Fair warning though: Even if I do 'censor' the story, the transformation trigger is still bodily invasive, and might disturb some readers. I'll give you one big hint. "Cordyceps". It is not so much an attempt to disturb readers, as to connect a number of elements of lore from flammie's origin, the "secret of mana" games, and place them in an at least somewhat feasible real-life scenareo... think sci-fantasy, I guess... And in any sci-fi or sci-fantasy setting, a full body transformation is going to have to be somewhat graphic, unless, perhaps, you use the old mystical magical "nanomachine" excuse... ie, things so small that you don't have to describe how they are tweaking stuff.
I hope that gives you a better idea of my intentions. I'll probably do two drafts anyway, one "clean", one "naughty", and pick which one just flows more naturally, or even just post them both simultaneously.
Oh, one last thing. for me, transformation can indeed be an erotic element, but flammie represents my more playful, happy, idealistic, and "innocent" side... so flammie transformations in general always leave me feeling conflicted like this.
Now, if you want a specific spoiler on what said erotica is supposed to be, go ahead and note me and I'll be more specific.
That said, I would love to share a drum like that. Of course my pessimistic side tells me "what if the magic is limited? What if there can be only one flammie at a time? would I still be willing to share?" Heh. That in itself suggests an idea for a tf story based around the concept of friendship and sacrifice.
