A slight rustling sound tickled the hearing of the lynx female as she sat in her crouched stance. She watched through very limited vision as people passed by her hiding spot. She was surprised when Allison had asked for her help in this project. She wasn't much for field work and preferred to be in the dispatchers office, but she didn't really have a choice this time. She was going to have to get her hands dirty. Her breath quickened as she lay in wait, ready to spring her trap. She and Allison were a formidable team, and she was going to show that today. Quick footsteps approached her position and her senses homed in on them like the predator she was. It felt almost feral to be in this ambush position. Her blood pumped quicker as she listened intently to the small bluetooth piece in her ear. "Emily...Now!" came the expected voice of her partner through the speaker, and immediately the lynx sprang into action. "Rawr!!!" came the lynx's voice as leaves exploded from the pile she sat in and the screams of startled children filled the air. "Ah! It's the leaf monster!" shouted one of the kids as they changed direction to run past Emily. The lynx laughed heartily as she gave chase alongside Allison as they went deeper into the park and underneath a large banner. "30th Annual Fall Law Enforcement Picnic."
