The autumn breeze picked up softly, blowing a small tornado of fallen leaves around the brightly lit forest. The bright sunset light cast a golden glow on the area as three figures moved along a path. Crunching leaves could be heard as the trio moved, looking around at the different sights the forest offered. “Look there Master. Isn’t that cute?” asked Maneki as she pointed at a squirrel gathering nuts. “Mhmm…Must be storing them for winter.” replied the male wolfox walking beside the calico feline. “You two are walking sooo slow. Come on and pick up the pace!” came a cheerful voice up ahead. “Sly smiled to himself as he waved to Luck, she walking a bit ahead of them. “I’m still surprised at how much she’s changed in the past year.” he mused. “Me too. I’ve never known Lucky to be very happy. She always tolerated things around her and kept her head high, but that all changed when you took her on as your pet. Now she’s actually happy. And it’s all thanks to you Master.” said Maneki with a smile. “Thanks Kitty. Though I haven’t done anything special. I am very grateful to have you girls in my life.” he replied smiling back at her. The look on Maneki’s face soured just a little, causing him to raise an eyebrow confused. “What’s wrong?” he asked curiously. “Its…Master Please don’t think little of me for this, but now that you’ve taken Lucky and even Pips on as your pets I just…I don’t want things to change between us…” she said with a slight blush. “What do you mean change?” he asked confused. “You know…us…this…” she said softly, indicating that they were almost alone in the forest aside from Luck a bit in front of them. “Oh. I see. Well let me tell you now that things won’t change too much. Taking on Luck and Pips does mean that you will have to share me a bit, but I promise that I will always take time to be with you. How would you like to take another walk with me tomorrow? Just the two of us.” he said softly. Maneki’s face lit up at the suggestion, her blush darkening as she nodded softly before pressing her head to his chest as they walked. “Thank you Master. I love you.” she replied, her eyes closed content. “I love you too Kitty.” he replied as they continued on.

This beautiful pic was commissioned a while ago and I have been itching to get something short written for it to post. And with fall nearing an end there is no better time than now. Shana really pulled out all the stops with this one. It looks absolutely gorgeous with the lighting and the scenery. I thank her for the amount of attention and detail she put into this pic.
