Five things about JTA

Heyo,
Since JTA has been going for a while now i decided to make a bit of an introduction document to it and open up some avenues through which we can talk and clear things out about...Well, anything really.
So i decided to write a minor Q&A to help clarify a few things about the story and maybe entice a new reader or two.
1- What is JTA?
JTA is a story... But also a bit more to me than that, at least for me.
JTA started years back when I first joined the fandom, back then I was trying my hardest to 'be creative' and decided since I was no good at drawing I should learn to write since that was an artform I had more affinity with.
If you're wondering why the old version is not up or why you don't remember it, it's because the first version was written entirely in Portuguese as that is my native language.
Since then my English has gotten better as well as my writing abilities, and well, I wasn't happy with the old JTA as it was mostly a bunch of D&D terms I used back then, so I decided to reboot it into a different format with more lore a deeper world and more well-rounded characters.
This is by all intents and purposes a work of my soul, one I've devoted countless hours of my life to and plan on devoting a lot more. I want a long-standing narrative that goes deeply into each character’s background and motivations and will probably span several years of both mine and their lives.
So TLDR... JTA is a story designed to stand for a long time, so keep that in mind.
2 - Who are you?
Well, I am Djourner, a kobold who lives in Brazil and enjoys writing.
And honestly I don't know what else i could say about me that would satisfy anyone's curiosity... As I said, I am a nerd, I like RPGs and good stories, and I play a lot of videogames and watch a lot of anime and shows of a large variety of themes and tones.
Occasionally I chat with my friends online and i basically have no social life other than on the internet... So pretty standard furry :3
I also work in an insurance company, so there is that. ^^
3 - What are my inspirations?
I am in general a HUGE NERD, i like all things fantasy and sci-fi, so you can expect to see elements of those genres with lots of magic and weird technology.
I also have more of an influence from anime, but don't expect this to devolve into shounen style power screaming... I do like shounen, and I reserve myself the right to borrow tropes from it... BUT... I also reserve the right to borrow tropes from any other genre, and JTA is by no means your standard black and white, good vs evil shounen.
It is by design that I pull the story into a bit darker subjects like depression, mental health, abandonment, and overall very unhealthy coping mechanisms... But in spite of those darker subjects I also reserve the right for my characters to just act silly and playful at times, as I fell that captures a more realistic report on their lives, not everyone can be grim and dark all the time, right?
So TLDR... JTA is a bit of everything, with a lot of a focus on character drama, but also with elements of high fantasy, sci-fi and a sometimes comedy.
4 - How is JTA structured?
Well, as mentioned above and ill add a few points.
JTA is entirely POV, so each chapter will always have a narrator and be looked at from someone's perspective, or rather, someone will be telling YOU about their perspective on those events... I always found first person stories to resonate a lot with me, I fell more connected to characters as I get to explore their inner monologue and so I decided that was the way I wanted to write.
Mind you, that is not the only way I can, I have a few stories in my other account that are not First person, this is just how I decided to do it and I hope it resonates as well with you guys as it does me.
JTA is also meant to look and feel more like a seasonal show, hence why it is split into episodes, each episode will usually be one a full length story in and off itself focusing on one or multiple characters and exploring the events of one or a few days, with time gaps in-between them.
So yeah, exactly like a show any show you might catch, like a cartoon or anime or series.
One more thing not touched on yet will be seasons... As you might guess seasons will be a collection of episodes, the first season I believe will be wrapping up at around episode 15, maybe just a bit more or less depending on whether or not I will include certain scenes.
Other than these you can find bonus chapters on patreon, these will be few and generally not focused on story, but I wanted to put them on patreon just as a sort of bonus as I currently have no way of giving anything else... If I get to a certain number of donators I will ask them if they want me to put those chapters out as well, so maybe one day they will all be free.
No TLDR on this one :P
5 - What can we expect from JTA?
So, let me start by saying that JTA is not porn, there is some mature and some adult scenes in it, but I’m afraid if you are reading it exclusively for the possibility of there being porn, or thinking this might be one of those cuckold stories that will one day embrace it’s true nature, I will have to shatter your expectations right now.
That is not to say there is no sex or suggestive scenes, there are those things but they are there as part of the story. The scenes that are just true fap material I am keeping as bonus chapters specifically for the story to be the main focus. Also, I am not object to there being more sex scenes, just keep in mind that I will probably not be posting them here.
What you CAN expect here is as i said before, a lot of densely packed character drama that unfolds over many chapters. Each and every character in the main cast has a lot of things to strive for and the idea of the story is to see how these characters will get eventually get to Ataraxia.
Whether I am being metaphorical as in... a state of ataraxia... or whether I am being straight... as in there is a place called Ataraxia they can get to... I am really not at liberty to say, that is a plot element is it not? :3
6 - Progression of JTA?
Well, I am working my hardest to make sure chapters are getting to you guys on time every week... And that is all i can offer for now.
Getting an artist to make the first few character sheets has proven to be a major challenge as people either drop on me or don't take interest in the project... And the fact i live in Brazil doesn't help there as exchange rates to other coins prohibits me from seeking artist from anywhere else.
Still... those are my excuses... I am just trying to get there, one day there will be art, a whole gallery even!
Just not now... I am not that financially stable... But hey, that's where you can help by heading over to patreon, if this project interests you at all.
After we get a bit or art maybe I can start commissioning some art out of my pocket and hopefully that will help kick this project off to soar high... And if I may dare dream, one day there might be a JTA anime... Oh, silly me, dreaming too high again.
