Strategy RPG players who don't employ strategy

I love Stategy RPGs and with the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster I was very excited. While looking for tips and tricks I noticed a LOT of SRPG players don't employ much strategy beyond "Grind Levels till your stats are maximum". Which ok is a choice but its not really a strategy is it? Just becoming overwhelmingly powerful early on untill nothing can hurt you the brute force every scenerio? There isn't much variety there, it's just tediously grind weak enemies for hours then a just walk over everything.
Then the obsession with getting stats as high as possible, beyond the point they matter. Ir the damage cap is 9999 and you deal that much with 250 Strength what's the point of getting your strength stat to 500? I still remeber cwhen Final Fantasy Tactics advanced came out people said not to use one of the story line characters because is one stat max at 997 not 999 even though having the stat over 500 was meaningless.

I suppose you'd have to investigate them before you got them to see which style they favor. I think Triangle Strategy was more of a strategy-first SRPG, if you want one to check out.
I get why a lot of people where upset with the Dark Knight being cut, because its a overpowered class, they where the players who just ginded to unlock the job right away, grinded to level 99 and then strolled casually though the rest of the game. I'm not aginst the option, but to be unable to play unless your over powered? Unless you can't lose?
Maybe I just don't get people who can only play these kind of games if they can "activate god mode" and make most of the gameplay pointless.
