Master Cynrik, I think Reptile's art evolution over these long decades would serve as the perfect case study for how a character can mature and develop through the course of their artist's cultivation of skill. I know that you said previously that you are not him, and I accept that, even though I believe that there is always a little bit of the artist's original mental essence in their work, whether intentional or unintentional.

I mean, talk about humble beginnings! On one casually lazy afternoon in 1996, floating along like every other, his birth occurred on the doodles of some spare napkin paper, tucked away behind the ketchup bottle on the rickety old kitchen table. And yet, over the ebbing flow and gnawing delirium of time, the undeniable growth and aesthetic maturation slowly begins to take form. This baby reptile has become a powerful force of nature, a warrior chief in his own right. A visual ceremony in muscular worship, his body emanates sexual discovery like the wispy radiation of steam off a sugary hot cup of cocoa on a winter's eve. Scaly divinity has a face!

I think the ultimate testimony of Reptile's journey through the layers of artistic mantra is to be the seed of inspiration for the next generation of furry artists. Let the new millennium of furry sculptors absorb your way of life. Imagine far in the future, with the inception of new dynamic furry gods that we can scarcely dream about today in the embryonic form of possibility. That the artists of those times will look back and say "Yeah, I was influenced by ReptileCynrik's character Reptile, I mean, he just really opened my eyes to how super awesome a scaly buff character can actually be."

Thus, your status as the Patriarch of the Furry Art World was born. It is a title that can only be earned and thrust upon you by others. And you've certainly got my vote.

You're right about me and Reptile... we're quite different in many ways... but also share quite a few similarities.

Yeah... "one lazy afternoon"... that's absolutely correct: I was standing next to our phone... there was a little block of paper (used for notes) I could doodle on... and after some minutes... this drawing happened. It was crazy!
To be honest: I've just watched "DRAGONHEART" the other day... and stopped by a GAMES WORKSHOP store (which had a LIZARDMEN poster in the window)!
So... the movie... plus the lizard dudes... this all must've triggered this idea in my head.

It is cool how it all started... and the way it evolved.


About fans and friends... I'd like to think that REPTILE has shaped some people's way of life or career... at least in some way.
Many people come to me and say "Reptile is the character that made me a furry" or "He is the character that brought me into the fandom"!
Well, do we need more praise that THIS????

MMMMMM.... Games Workshop... that takes me back a few decades... we had one of those in the local mall as well. I didn't know it was in multiple countries lol. Dragonheart, voiced by the illustrious Sean Connery R.I.P.... That movie was likely a huge beckoning for those who were furry minded and looking for a community. Maybe even as much as The Lion King, which is generally credited as being one of the most influential 'I'm-A-Furry' movies of all time.

I agree. It would be tough to word smith a compliment for you, that would somehow surpass the true story of someone explaining that your character Reptile was the creative lynchpin that launched them into the furry mainstream. Such is the metaphorical brain heroin of myth, it must make you feel so 'high' that you blast off to another galaxy.

Indeed, I am jealous of the other artists that can try their hand at drawing Reptile either as a tribute, or as a fun pastime. I wish I could do the same. All I can do is throw words at you, sadly. DjDarkFox's interpretation of Reptile is a real force of nature to be reckoned with, as is all his other artwork. The euphoric feeling of receiving multiple works of his featuring your own character is a sensation shared by only a small elite handful of other people in the entire world.

You've certainly earned it, though. In fact, I would say none other deserve it more.

Yes, I do "feel high"... as a matter of fact, every artist dreams about getting popular... isn't that true? ^^
