Stumbling into her home, she slammed the door behind her and ran straight towards the bathroom. Flipping on lights as she ran, she scrambled into the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Turning sideways, she pulled down her collar and looked at her neck and back. What her eyes revealed to her was impossible. Where her skin should have been, smooth yellow/orange scales met her eyes. Gulping back shock and fear, she continued to pull down her shirt, revealing more scales. Her eyebrows started to burn, the hair falling out, being replaced with a ridge of scales. Her eyes burned slightly as they started to change as well, turning to an almost iridescent green.

Groaning, Rex doubled over in the bathroom and held her stomach. It felt like her insides were doing backflips inside chest. Her fingers and hands started burning too, scales covering Rex's small, slender hands. The skin all over her body started to burn, like she had been dunked in gasoline and set on fire. Letting out a painful moan, she curled up on the bathroom floor in a haze of pain.

"What's happening to me?!" Rex shouted from the bathroom floor. Forcing herself to her knees, she let out a long sigh and groaned. It felt as if her body was compressing and expanding itself at the same time. Her bones and muscles started to ache and throb. Looking up at the mirror, her reflection had changed. Rex's face was now covered in a neat set of yellow/orange scales with black stripes running through them. Touching her new scales with her hand, they felt warm and very real.
