Leaning back in the worn leather booth, Rex finished up the remainder of her warm tea. The bitter taste from the first tea was still in her mouth. Licking her lips, she tried to wash away the bitter aftertaste from her tongue. Feeling that the attempts were futile, she huffed and threw away the empty cup. Standing up from her table, she slowly made her way towards the exit. Pushing herself through the crowd that was still populating the front end of the bar, she made her way towards the door. Slightly irritated at the drunken escapades of the patrons at the bar, she growled and pushed her way through. Finally reaching the door, she walked outside and walked down the sidewalk.

A mild itching sensation started to creep over her skin, feeling like she had rolled around in some poison ivy. Puzzled and slightly worried at the pestilent itching, she started to scratch her arms and neck. The itching intensified across her body, shifting to a burning sensation. It traveled from her shoulders, down her torso, and onto her legs. Scratching her neck and arms harder, she growled again and continued walking, trying to ignore it.

Her fingers brushed up against something rough on her neck. Running her fingers over the rough spot, she tried to make out what the feeling was. Feeling thick dry bumps on her neck, she swallowed hard and picked up the pace. What was this strange growth on her neck? Feeling around the area where the small bumps were, she felt more. Her whole shoulder line was covered in them. Her pace quickly changed from a brisk walk to a flat out run.

"What is that!?" she said aloud to herself as she ran. Stumbling over her feet, she caught herself and continued to run towards her house. Her feet felt like they were swelling in her shoes as she made tracks back towards her home.
