There comes a time in nearly everyone's life when we need to spread our metaphorical wings (or literal if you have them), step out from under the protective shawl of the family home and move out into the world.

My parent's supported me throughout the move. To be fair, mum did most of the organisational work - helping me with the househunting, stocking the pantries, setting up the house, and raiding the garage for sundry items about the house.

As for dad, he helped me move - both into the house and back out again when I relocated interstate. I am still amazed that he managed to fit an entire two bedroom house's worth of furniture, artwork, books, food, linen, appliances etc. all into a crew-cab ute and a box trailer.

He has a knack for packing a car - some say it was all the years spent camping and his work with the Rural Fire Service. I put it down to his many years of playing Tetris.
