After five and half long years of study and internship, I finally earned my degree in engineering. I found it quite interesting that as soon as I finished my degree, dad was suddenly asking me a heap of "tricky" questions: Can I do this with that? What do you suggest for this problem? Why does it do that?
I suppose he was finally able to get a return on his investment having fielded all my daft questions for the last 20 odd years. I reckon it will be the only tangible return he'll get. We have always joked that I am their retirement fund - I don't think it's going to happen though: engineers don't earn that much money.
If I had wanted to earn a fat wad of dosh I would have studied finance - but as my father taught me:
Do whatever makes you happy, because you're here for a good time, not a long time.
