Early in project for Rebby my old comp died (hard drive) and i tried to get another (better) one refurbished - somehow the tech couldn't get any version to windows to run on it, hence i came to be a Linux user....and without Painter or Photoshop....to make it worse my waccom tabet wasn't working right with Gimp....it did work, though with this lesser known open source software called MyPaint....so i started to do some sketching with that...

MyPaint has many of the good qualities of Painter....but some serious short-commings,,e.g., all the layers are "normal" no hard light, no multiply, no transparencies....i realized later that once can take line art and do an alpha mask in gimp and save as a PNG with transparencies, then open that into MyPaint to have as a top layer... Anywho, by then i had got my tablet to work with Gimp in Kubuntu Linux.....anwassit, this was a pretty pic along the way
