The greentrail is a very peculiar monster that dwells in the darkest parts of temperate rainforests. It has many prehensile vines sprouting from its body that it spreads throughout the forest floor in order to ensnare unsuspecting prey, which sometimes includes people.

Usually the greentrail remains stationary within the networks of its vines, much like a spider within its web. However a particularly hungry or impatient greentrail may shoot towards its prey at lighting speed, tearing through the undergrowth like a black mamba would.

Greentrails have a very limited capacity for human speech, picking up a few words that are uttered with a great deal of hissing and snorting. This is how one gardener was able to bargain for his freedom, tricking a rather dimwitted greentrail into believing that gardeners are hunters of greentrails.
