birthday gift for my friend starálfur a few days ago! yeah, i kind of overestimated this one, i think im gonna go with simpler scenes in the future, or otherwise plan a day or two in advance

this picture takes place in thomson street in suva, fiji! i did things a little differently here though. i based the angle off of this capture, but the shading and time of day on this one. it was a little ambitious though, im not that good with lighting and stuff yet, but i do love drawing night time scenes when i can
i chose fiji since i recall katz and his bf saying they wanted to visit fiji or something like that. this location probably reminds people more of something like singapore, india, or even japan if you ignore the roman characters, but people often forget that theres more to the island micronations than just tropical beaches!
this is my third polynesian island, with the first two being tuvalu and new zealand (yes, new zealand is considered part of polynesia!) the tuvalu picture however was not based on a google maps screenshot, so some people might consider this my first 'pure' polynesian drawing. i still gotta draw a melanesian and a micronesian island one of these days
also, one little FA-exclusive detail id like to point out is that the street to the right is literally called 'cumming street'. it wasnt even intentional either, i only noticed it when looking at this location from the other angle and seeing a sign labelling it. i like keeping my language clean on this profile but i just found that fact too entertaining not to mention
