Inner-Selves No. 5, Part B
Blaze noticed Fidget’s body hit the ground, he didn’t know what had happened to him, but he noticed that Kat was more focused on the spot where the spirit eater was standing. Fidget was invisible to Blaze, he also couldn’t be heard, felt, or smelled by him. Fidget charged at the spirit eater, and prepared to jump.
“You don’t know who you’re messing with small fry!” the monster yelled as it swiped a claw at him. Since Fidget was in mid-air, he couldn’t dodge, so he blocked it with his rattle instead. The force of the claw swipe knocked him to the ground, and he got up. “That was pretty good, you’re a lot stronger than my previous opponents” Fidget panted. Fidget charged at him again, unaware that his diaper was swelling and making it hard for him to move. “What’s going on? Why am I slowing down?” Fidget thought to himself. He jumped up again and swung his rattle at the spirit eater, but the monster spat another glob of explosive goo at him, landing on his shoulder. “Oh no, Fidget !” Kat cried out. “Too late” the spirit eater said mockingly. It screeched and the goo exploded, Fidget collapsed and had a hard time getting up. Fidget heard the wet diaper squish as he sat up, and it sagged so much that Fidget finally realized why he felt like he was slowing down. “Man, this thing is such a pain” Fidget moaned, hating the feeling of his wet diaper.
“Try to tough it out Fidget, I can’t change your diaper in the heat of battle” Kat said. “You’re joking right?” Fidget asked. The next thing he did took Kat by complete surprise, he untapped his diaper and let it fall to the floor. “Ew! Fidget, what’re you doing?!” Kat exclaimed looking shocked and embarrassed. “This thing’s weighing me down, so I dropped the extra weight, if you get my meaning.” “Ya but….eww, Fidget that’s gross, you’re completely nude.” “You think I’m enjoying this?! I wouldn’t have to worry about this if I had bladder control!” Fidget screamed annoyingly. The spirit eater saw their argument as a chance to strike, and fired another glob of goo. “You think I forgot you were here?” Fidget responded. He jumped and avoided the attack. “This is much better, I can move more freely and faster” Fidget thought as he grinned. He ran and jumped up, kicking the monster in the face. He fell to the ground and Fidget positioned the rattle ready to stab him in the face as he was falling. The spirit eater rolled out of the way just in time. “This wannabe youth sprite is unreal, if this keeps up, he might actually beat me” the spirit eater thought worriedly. It quickly shot another glob of goo onto Blaze. Kat gasped and Blaze was terrified, because he’d been shot by the goo, he could now see the spirit eater and Fidget. “No…” Fidget gasped, he didn’t want this to happen. “Alright youth sprite, the jig is up, drop your weapon or I’ll blow the kid’s arm off!” the spirit eater demanded. Fidget trembled all over and he gritted his teeth, now he’d gone too far. “You coward! He’s not involved in this fight!” Kat couldn’t help but feel responsible for all of this, she’d put a heavy burden on Fidget ever since that night, she had to do something. “I don’t know if I can do it, but I’ve got to try another spell, maybe, just maybe, if I use both hands, I can bring up enough energy to do some damage” Kat thought desperately. The spirit eater had its back turned to Kat as it stood between Fidget and Blaze, so it didn’t know what she was planning. She raised both of her hands up and wove a hand sign with each of them. She then pointed her palms at the monster’s back. “Battle technique number 31, Supershot!” Kat screamed. A larger red fireball than the one she’d used at Sophie’s house fired from her hands, hitting the spirit eater dead on, but barely singeing its dark fur. Kat groaned angrily, even with two hands her spells were useless, but at least she’d distracted the spirit eater. “That again? You’re really pathetic!” the monster shouted at her. “Now!” Fidget thought as he jumped up and raised his rattle. “Game over loser!” Fidget screamed as the monster looked at him just in time to be struck in the face with his rattle. The spirit eater screamed in pain as he covered his damaged face. The next thing that happened Fidget didn’t expect, for a moment, the ground beneath the spirit eater opened up and a band of demons rose up and grabbed the spirit eater. “Kat, what’s going on?” Fidget asked. “Normally spirit eaters are cleansed by the rattle and enter the Eternity Care Center as their inner child, but those that committed horrible crimes while alive are sent to the Underworld, as you see now” she replied. The spirit eater screamed as the demons overpowered him and dragged him down into the pit, the ground sealed up again and he was gone forever.
“Glad that’s over” Fidget said relieved. “Not quite” Kat said. Fidget looked confused. Kat grabbed the wet diaper Fidget left on the ground and touched the blue star on the front of it, some wipes, powder and a fresh diaper appeared. “You need to put something on you little streaker” Kat said sternly. Fidget moaned, he really didn’t like to be diapered. After he was wiped up and diapered, Kat placed the star on the front of it, the old diaper disintegrated upon having the star removed. “Happy now?” Fidget said sarcastically as he crossed his arms. “Aww, lighten up Fidget, I think you look cute” Blaze said, smiling for the first time. Macho woke up just as soon as Fidget was back in his adult body, a bit woozy but otherwise unharmed. “Thanks everyone, you all were great!” Blaze said happily. Kat was happy that Blaze could now live in peace, and no one mentoring him would ever get hurt again, but she was still greatly saddened, her powers hadn’t returned at all. “Well, I gotta go see him tomorrow anyway, maybe he can help me find out why this is happening” she thought to herself as they all went their separate ways.
