Inner-Selves No. 6, Part B
The new inhabitant in Fidget’s body stood outside the building where Fidget’s English class was held, his eyes staring up at the window to the classroom he was supposed to attend. “I don’t wanna waste my time climbing all those stairs, I can get up there in no time flat!” he declared. He bent his knees a little and then jumped, then he was right in front of the window, class hadn’t started yet, but already there were plenty of students there to give him an audience. The impersonator opened the window and sat on the edge of the window, looking at the shocked students and listening to them. “Fidget, how did you get up here?” Stryper exclaimed. “I jumped, how else could I get here so quickly?” he replied. “Jumped, all the way up to the third floor, no way! He must’ve crawled in from the class next door” said another guy. “Did you actually see him do it?” said Remy. “Well, no…” the student replied. The replacement spirit was loving the instant popularity he had with the class. “They all think I’m awesome, cool!” he thought to himself. While the guys and girls discussed what they’d just seen, the impersonator was checking out the girls, one by one. “I’ve been sealed up in that pacifier so long, it’s so great to be around the opposite gender, and they’re all hot!” he thought. His eyes instantly narrowed on the chest of a girl puma, his eyes widened and his mouth began to water. “Whoa! Supersize!!” he thought as his heart raced. He raced over to Sophie and held her hand in his. “Hey there beautiful, where’ve you been all my life?” he said smiling. “Fidget, stop, everyone’s looking…” Sophie said blushing. “Let them look” he replied as he kissed her hand. The other girls couldn’t believe it, Fidget was never this romantic with any girl. A soft yellow rabbit girl stomped over to the replacement Fidget, and grabbed the back of his shirt collar, she was furious. “What’re you doing Fidget?! This isn’t like you at all, and you’re embarassing Sophie!” she snapped. He turned around and looked at her, confused. “Hey, you’re kinda cute too, now that I get a better look at ya” he responded. The rabbit growled and slapped him in front of the whole class. “You’re such a pig!” she screamed.
of the whole class. “You’re such a pig!” she screamed.
Meanwhile, Fidget had just finished taking care of the spirit eater that was in the area. “That takes care of that Fidget, now we can go back to class” Kat said. “Good, I hope that guy is doing ok” Fidget replied. They both hurried back to the college as quick as they could, as they closed in on its location, Fidget noticed the window to his English class get broken, a textbook had caused the damage. “That’s our class! What’s going on up there?!” Fidget exclaimed, running faster to the classroom. He jumped up to the window and avoided being hit by a flying backpack, then he saw the source of the commotion. “Really Flopsie, I don’t think he meant anything…” Sophie said to the rabbit. “Ya right! He tried to lift up my skirt!” she shouted as she grabbed a chair and threw it at Fidget’s replacement. Like all the other flying objects before, the replacement spirit avoided being hit by the chair and tried his best to keep his distance from Flopsie. “Why’re you so angry? I’m just admiring your beauty” he said. Fidget groaned and clenched his fists, he’d given his substitute one simple task, and he screwed it up. Knowing that no one would see or hear him, he rushed at his replacement self. “Now you’ve done it! Give me back my body you idiot!” he snarled as he got ready to kick him. The replacement noticed Fidget and blocked his kick, then responded by knocking Fidget against the back wall with a kick of his own. The classmates couldn’t see Fidget’s spirit, but they couldn’t help but wonder what Fidget’s substitute had kicked against the wall, and when the real Fidget stood up, they could see the chair being moved as Fidget braced himself against it. “Ow, that really hurt, just what are you anyway? Your kick was pretty strong” Fidget said rubbing his cheek. The replacement looked all around him, everyone was staring, but not for the reasons he wanted. As Fidget readied himself to come at his body again, the replacement jumped out the window. “Hey come back!” Fidget shouted at him, he quickly followed him out the window. Kat had just arrived outside the building when the replacement touched down on the ground in front of her. “Hey, replacement spirit, did you cause all that trouble?” Kat asked him sternly. “Haha, catch me if you wanna find out” it snickered. It ran past Kat in an instant, Kat could barely make out his movements, he was running faster than any normal fur. “He’s so fast, and he landed on his feet safely after jumping from the third floor, could he be…a combat sprite?” Kat thought to herself. Fidget came up to Kat, looking around for his body. “Kat, did he come this way?” Fidget asked her. “Yes, but he ran off, really fast, he must be a combat sprite” Kat told him. “A what?” Fidget said confused. “I’ll explain on the way, we gotta follow him” Kat replied. They both ran off in the direction the inhabitant of Fidget’s body headed.
The combat sprite was now leaping from rooftop to rooftop, making much longer jumps than Fidget could. “I’m fast, I can jump really high, and really far, this is so awesome!” the replacement spirt shouted. He looked around him, trying to find a place where he could have some fun. He stopped in front of an elementary school, where two kids were playing video games. “This is so much fun, I don’t know why they don’t allow these things here” said one boy. “Don’t get distracted, my monster is about to own yours” another one said as he played the same game while connected to the other boy’s game unit. A few beeping sounds from the game indicated that the first boy’s monster had just been killed. “Awww man, I never win with this monster” he moaned. “Heck, if he’s no good, then just get rid of him and start over” the second boy replied. The replacement spirit had heard the whole conversation, and something about what the two kids had said made him angry. He glared over at the kids and clenched his fists.
