The job search train does Not go well. While I'm not sure it's Long Covid, it's definitely Medium Covid as I still have chest tightness and coughing. Got past the mental break portion of feeling sad for myself, and am back to more forcefully attacking my survival.
Part of what I determined is that in times like these, people look to art. They want something to be there, something that takes their mind off the shit, and even if I can't help people in dollars, I can help people in meaning. I want to make something that gives at least a little bit of optimism and inspiration for those feeling down, even if I myself am not in such a good position.
Perchance To Wake is ultimately a story of building something new for people who come after you, of not just facing the future but creating the future, and I think that's something that's desperately needed as of late. Strap yourselves in, because these goobers are going places.
I think that the YCH backlog is going to be something where I refund the money once I am capable of doing so. Right now keeping my mental state going is top priority, because a day spent weepy in the tub is a day lost. I apologize deeply for those who wanted stories, but I don't feel I am capable of creating those at this time. I am like one panic attack away from a medical incident, and whatever I can focus on to keep me going I will.

I have a story in the YCH backlog and I'll volunteer that I'd much rather cut the losses than accept a refund from you. Your future wellbeing is much more important than me seeing a little bit of money back, especially if that will eat into your opportunity to build up emergency funds once you're able to work again. If (and only if) you're once again in a mentally and financially healthy position to write it, it would be wonderful to see again, but otherwise please do not consider it.
