Hee-Ho, howdy everyone, today I bring you something other than just a bunch of random Pokemon icons I have lying around. Frankly, I forgot I kinda had this one just unfinished and staying dormant in one of my folders. I decided to finish it, and it's an illustration of Hyembs showing off her "combat" prowess or "magical abilities" that I had planned for her.
Most Dragons or some Kaijus have a form of breath attack, but Hyembs does not. My original idea for her is that she is an extremely and has a heavy focus on magical martial abilities. Such as all of her "special attacks" is usually magic that involves amping up her claws, fists, grapples or throws. That Hyembs is not fat, she is simply built like a hippo and has an extreme amount of muscle.
This piece was more or less just an "experimental" piece because I wanted to test "magic consumed hands" again. I still kinda classify this one as a doodle. Trying to get a better feel for it or showing a character "powering up" with a glow to them, but I want to keep my style and how characters interact with shadows and stuff-- that probably didn't make much sense lmfao- (I also got tons of experimental pieces I just never posted of characters from behind or from the back I was messing with.) I also decided to leave her kobold knights out of this piece- she obviously just set them down somewhere

The universe that Hyembs belongs to does not connect to the greater setting I'm working on of "Skin to Scales" and is meant to be a way more cuddly, cute, silly, and adorable setting in comparison to my main works. However, nothing that happens in this work of fiction is to connect to any real-life events and is merely coincidence as well as the names or other sorts of media (unless stated.) "Hyembs the Dragon" is about a pink, airheaded dragon who is the self-proclaimed defender of "Grandiopolis." the last bastion of civilization in a fairy-tale world filled with kaiju and monsters that would want to see it destroyed. A powerful wizard created the dragons, but one day vanished as well as many of his creations decided to defect from defending this world. Hyembs the Dragon woke up centuries late and refuses to deny her absent creator's will and does not wish to see humanity and the good creatures of the world to be destroyed. Her and her Kobold Knights, and new Kaiju friends will defend what's left of the world at all costs from not only the monsters, but making sure King Oldbeard doesn't destroy his own kingdom.

Fun Factoid: I really like the idea of making my monsters look super silly and ugly- or well, many of the Kaiju from space. I think I want to make different classifications... Such as "Dragons" or "Alien" or "Insectoid"- something like that with different threat levels. I also decided to give this scene a more Halloween or October-like color palette lmfao

This is just absolutely extraordinary and yet so freaking adorable all in one! Your art and characters are absolutely brilliant and I'm hyped to seeing so much more of your wonderfully adorable and ambitious works in the future! Keep doing great!
