Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! My name is TwistedHensley and I am a writer, illustrator, and most of all I am a world builder! Here you will find the whimsical and alien setting known as “Skin to Scales” and "Hyembs the Dragon"

Skin to Scales is a "Dark Epic Fantasy" setting with an extremely bright and colorful coat of paint. There is magic, sci-fi elements, dragons, kobolds, gigantic monsters and an extremely colorful cast of characters who live within it! Just because the universe is this "dark, cold, and unforgiving" place, doesn't mean the characters have to be! See this mystical multi-universal realm with an ever-expanding timeline through Thomza, the Maskless Entity and main hero of the setting. Or how about the Sci-Fi Superhero, Hunter Star Spine! The Faceless Survivors, Huntley or even Caroline Star. Maybe posts with the swashbuckling Kobold, Freya. The warped and boundless researcher Aellea. The tactical commander Captain PiK. Or even the feral veteran, Ayvil. There are so many characters for you to meet and more within this mystical realm!

With so many characters and so many varying perspectives across this multi-universal setting they’re all bound together by one big bad guy, Maxwell. For he and his faceless forces wish to call the curtains on who he would call "rejects". No matter how grim things may be these heroes will gladly fight for a better tomorrow. However, Maxwell isn’t their only threat... There’s Angel-Tech, The Council of Colored Gods, King Keii and the Holy Order and not to mention the various wildlife and monsters of unknown and terrible origin.

If this dark fantasy setting does not suit your wishes, there is always the setting with "Hyembs the Dragon", which is a much more colorful, bright and hopeful setting without a real need for many bad guys. The main character being Hyembs and her various Kobold Squires as they get up to no good while playing the guise of a hero to the various villages spread across the land. For she will protect them the best way she knows how through love and friendship! Although keep in mind, she is also considered to be my "Internet Persona", and avatar for the most part. Any and all "crossovers" with any other IPs or anything like that is simply fanart, and are all entirely unofficial, this goes double for skin to scales. Although, I still do fanart on this page, let it be Pokemon, Pikmin or some video game you "never ever heard of before, and I'm *TOTALLY* the only one who shares this interest." There is never any copyright infringement intended on my page or the artwork I create.

Now let me get into one last thing, all of this stuff is a passion project of mine, I do artwork, writing, worldbuilding, all that stuff for fun. I do not do it out of obligation, I do not do it for the "fame" and "internet points" that mean nothing in the end. I have created all of this for myself and it's why you do not really see me take commissions or anything like that. (I may open commissions one day, but it's still off the table.) I started artwork about 12 years ago from today, maybe even longer, and it's been a very long journey to get to this point. I am entirely self-taught, and I try my best to be friendly and open towards people, but I also suffer from some social anxiety issues, so please do not be to upset if I somehow miss a comment or it takes me a very long time to get back to you. I try and joke around a lot too, so don't take anything I say tooooooo seriously

The characters, places, all that stuff belongs to me, and any form of copyright infringement is mere coincidence. Skin to Scales is not meant to be part of any other setting at all, any names and places are merely coincidences, and the setting does have a lot of "faith based" content, but it is also not meant to connect to any real-life religions either. The setting is meant to be completely grounded in fantasy and stay in that fantasy realm. Even if names are similar, such as "Dwarf", "Mandrake", "Tiamat", "Kobold", I assure you they all have different meanings in this very alien setting.
