I'm happy to present to you my contribution to day 6 of Orctober 2024, with the prompt "druid:
While there is no druids per say in the world of Ogmos, some spiritual and magical practices are quite similar to druidism (both its historical and fantasy iterations). That is, closely connected to nature and the land (among other things). This include the “Root Menders”, a religious order created by the Zagroks (or Orcs), dedicated to Rokann, deity of plant life, fertility and harvest. They are revered by the Zagroks as one of their creators, alongside Zundag (the sun god). Although nowadays, Rokann’s worship tend to be more popular within smaller zagrok communities (rural and nomadic alike), compared to bigger city-states.
It is there that Root Menders play the bigger role, as healers of people, beasts, plants and soil, be it healing wounds of the body or the spirit. While their name might frame them as healers, Root Menders also learn to use nature magic for defense and attack, usually with the intent to punish those who defile the land. In many smaller communities, they may also be advisers, judges and leaders.
The character depicted here is Drunann (meaning “Bark’s Gift” in common zagrok), a young Root Menders that had a strong affinity with nature magic from their earliest childhood. Some among her community found it quite ironic, considering that they have always been paler than most Zagroks.
Shy and reserved, Drunann tend to be more comfortable with plants and animals than other people. However, they are fiercely loyal to the few people they let in. Being born blind, they learned to sense the vibrations within the earth beneath their feet (similarly to Toph from AtlA). They also formed a strong bond with Tyggar, their hawk companion (Tyggar meaning “Sky-Sight”), who help direct their steps as well.

A black and white traditional drawing signed “Ad” (for “Aedell Dreamleaf”, the artist), and dated to “Oct[ober] 2024”. It depicts a young plus-sized Orc character from the artist’s fantasy setting. They have a round face, long wavy hair worn loose, blind eyes highlighted with dark makeup, swirly face paint, two pair of tusks, lips painted in black, freckles on their face and shoulders, long pointy ears covered in furs and earrings, a bra-like outfit held by a brooch on their right shoulder, a beaded necklace with an acorn pendant, tattoos on their left shoulder and their right forearm, two beaded bracelets around their left wrist, and a woven one around their right biceps. They seem to be practicing some spell, which conjure several leaves forming a circle around a glyph (which looks similar to the one tattooed on their left shoulder).
