In Ogmos, the Zagroks (also known as “Orcs”) traditionally worship a whole pantheon of deities, each having their own dedicated priesthood. One of those deities is Zundag, the sun god (his name can literally be translated as “twilight-dawn” in the common Zagrok tongue). Members of Zundag priesthood are also known as “Sun-Callers”. In some myths, he’s credited as the one giving strength to the Zagrok. Those myths may be partially true, as the Zagroks seem to absorb solar energy (similar to plant’s photosynthesis, if you wish), giving them a boost of energy. This might explain why they tend to have a green skin, as well as their habitus of wearing revealing clothes during sunny days.
The character depicted here is a Sun-Caller initiate called Daggar (meaning “Dawn-Sight”). Son of the High Sun-Caller (the highest rank among the Sun-Caller) of his city-state, he hopes to one day walk in his father’s footsteps. As much as he has good intentions at heart, he may come off as a bit full of himself at times. Hence why some of his acquaintances have given him the snarky nickname “big head”, much to his dismay.

A black and white drawing signed “Ad” (for Aedell Dreamleaf, the artist) and dated to October 2024. It depicts a fantasy Orc, with long hair worn in a high ponytail, big eyes accentuated with dark make up, a cropped beard, long pointy ears with tuft of fur and earrings, bushy eyebrows, two pairs of tusk and a lion-like nose. He wears a long skirt and a draped cloth around his right shoulder, leaving his left shoulder bare. He wear bracelets around his left wrist and his right bicep, and tattoos on his left shoulder and his stomach. He hold a wooden staff on his left hand. The staff has an orb on its top, and a glyph float above it.

And fun fact, the idea of Orcs who can photosynthesize partially came from you (it was also how I discovered your artworks).
