CHAPTER 13:
The next part of The hatchling Gauntlet was a steep ramp. As before, there were multiple ramps for the hatchlings teams to go up and prevent the race from getting bottlenecked by any participants who struggled to complete it.
“Whoah!” gasped Spike as he frantically scurried up the inclined obstacle. “WHOAH!”
FWA-PUMPF!
CRINKLE-FWOOSH!
THUD!
The emerald-eyed dragon had successfully ran his way to the top of the ramp. However, his balance gave out upon reaching the top. This resulted in the padded, purple dragon falling forward onto his tummy and sliding face-first down to the opposite side of the incline.
“Are you okay?” asked Leon as he took a wary step onto the slide-like obstacle.
CRINKLE-RUSTLE
PIT-PAT
Spike got to his feet, adjusted his diaper so that it was not bunched around his knees, and looked up towards the top of the ramp.
“I’m fine!” he called back. “Just be careful when you reach the top!”
“Got it!” replied Leon as he began to carefully walk up the steep ramp.

CRINKLE-SKISH!
“HA!” laughed Parker as he watched his brother slip, fall flat on his back, and slide head-first back down the slide.
Leon gritted his teeth and let out a growl over his brother’s apparent delight in his fall.
“It’s not funny, Parker!” he snapped while rushing to turn his body so that he could get back up and face his twin…
RIP!
SNAP-SNAP-SNAP
…Unfortunately for Leon, his quick actions caused him to strain the threads of his onesie to where a massive tear formed in the seat of it before all of its buttons busted loose.
“HAHA!” chuckled Parker as he pointed towards his brother’s exposed diaper. “No. That’s funny!”
Leon made fists with his hands and was about to start a skirmish with his brother when he caught sight of his mother, Nixi, looking at him from one of the nearby ramps.

“You’re lucky mom is watching us,” growled Leon after he quickly removed what was left of his onesie and tossed it angrily to the ground. “Now I’ll really show you how this is done!”

SKIT-SLIP
SLIP-SKIT
Leon angrily dashed as fast as he could up the ramp. However, it looked like he was destined to not make it again as he reached the top and began to wobble.
“Darn it, Leon!” bellowed Parker as he got a running start before beginning his rapid ascent up the ramp. “We don’t have all day to get over this thing!”
SCHLIP!
“WHOAH!” Parker gasped as the smooth surface caused him to slip and fall forward…
CRINKLE-THWUMP!
CLASP!
…The next thing Parker knew was that his face was pressing firmly into the back of his twin brother’s diaper. The impact resulting in Leon falling forward down the slide as Parker held on tight around his brother’s waist as he joined in the forward fall down the slide-like ramp.
“Great!” exclaimed Spike upon seeing both brothers had successfully cleared the obstacle. “We’re almost at the next part of the gauntlet!”
“Get your face out of my diaper!” barked Leon as he used his arms to try and pull himself up.
“Get your diaper out of my face!” Parker growled in response as he let go of his twin’s waist, plopped to the ground, and joined his brother in getting back on his feet.
CHAPTER 14:
Very few dragons remained as Spike, Leon, and Parker went about ascending the massive pile of gems that Princess Ember stood proudly atop of.
“Remember!” she proclaimed while looking down towards the hatchlings who were doing more to bring each other back down the mountain of gems than to assist each other in scaling to the top. “You have to make it as a team! A TEAM!”

“Woah!” panicked a young, female dragon as she was grabbed by the leg and forced to slide back down the massive pile of treasure.
“Isn’t that your girlfriend, Leon?” teased Parker as he, Leon, and Spike continued on their way up towards the top to claim ‘The Alicorn Amulet’.
Leon blushed and looked away from his brother as he noticed the green-colored dragon, who was wearing a pair of shortalls that did little to hide her ruby, garnet, and pink diamond printed diaper from view.
SNATCH!
TUG!
“HEY!” yelped Parker as a blue-colored dragon, who was wearing a similar onesie to the one Leon had once been wearing, took hold of his leg with both hands and forced him down the gem pile. “No fair!”
“I’ll get Parker!” called Spike as he climbed down towards where the black-colored dragon was now sprawled out and struggling to maintain his grip as other hatchlings went about reaching for his legs and arms to pull him further down the hoard. “You just keep going to the top.”
“Right!” Leon replied as he continued his ascent up the mountain of gems.
SHRIEK!
Leon couldn’t help but take notice after the girl dragon yelped out in fear from being quickly forced further down the hoard by a team of hatchlings.
“Help!” she cried as her hold on the pile loosened to where she was beginning to quickly slide all the way to the very bottom of the hoard. “Help me!”
***
In the previous part of The hatchling Gauntlet, the teams of dragons were tasked to cross one of several bridges that lead to the final challenge. However, it was difficult to know how each bridge worked as a result of the teen and young adult dragons who were busy billowing out clouds of smoke that made everything above the first few feet of the bridge almost impossible to see.
Spike, Leon, and Parker quickly chose a bridge to climb and began their journey to the top. As they went, they could hear the sounds of other hatchlings slipping and falling from the bridge and into the shallow pit of lava below.
Everything was going great for Spike, Leon, and Parker until Leon suddenly found himself straying too far to the right side of the bridge. He was just about to fall into the lava when a hand suddenly took hold of his tail and steadied him enough to regain his balance. This hand did not belong to Spike, or Parker, but a girl dragon who was just a few steps ahead of where Leon was before his fall.
***
“Now it’s my turn to help you,” Leon said with determination as he steadied himself to slide down the gem pile towards where his new friend was struggling to stop her fall down to the bottom of the mountain of gems.

“I got you!” cried Leon as he expertly used the smooth, plastic shell of his diaper to safely slide down towards where his friend was struggling to regain her footing.
CLASP!
“Yay!” the green-colored dragon cheered as she felt Leon’s hand firmly take hold of her shortalls strap. “My hero!”
“…,” the black-colored dragon was left speechless by what the girl dragon had said to him.
“We go now?” she asked while digging her claws into the gem pile. “We win as friends?”
Leon nodded his head, narrowed his eyes, and positioned himself to run up the hoard like he had never had run before.
“Take my hand,” said Leon as he extended out his hand. “We’re going to show everyone the power of friendship!”
CHING-KLINK-CLICK-TICK!
“Wee!” the green-colored dragon, who had ear fins that were the same color of purple as Leon’s, cheered as she ran hand-in-hand up the gem hoard with Leon.
KLINK-TICK-CHING!
“Hey!” cried Parker as his twin and the girl dragon ran past where he and Spike were currently positioned on the mountain of gems. “Whose team are you on, Leon!”
Leon paid no mind to his brother. He was too focused on making it to the top of the gem pile with his friend as fast as he possibly could before his feet gave out, or another dragon tried to bring them back down towards the bottom of the hoard.
“HEY!” boomed Princess Ember as a pair of hatchlings that had neared the summit were blown past by Leon and the girl dragon. “It looks like we have a winner for the first ever, Hatchling Gauntlet!”
CHAPTER 15:
Spike sulked as he watched the team of dragons, which the girl dragon was a part of, waddle off with ‘The Alicorn Amulet’.
“I’m sorry,” Leon apologized. “I didn’t know those other dragons near the top were a part of her team.”
“It’s okay,” sighed Spike as he put a reassuring hand on Leon’s shoulder. “You didn’t know and helping out some creature who is in trouble is always the right thing to do.”
“I just think Leon got cooties,” stated Parker as he folded his arms over his chest.
“GG, my cutie-patooties,” cooed Nixi as she met up with the brooding trio. “I’m especially proud of you, Leon. You helped that cute, little girl who is running this way right now.”
“Ah!” cried Parker as he saw the shortalls-wearing dragon dashing towards their location. “Keep your cooties away from me!”
“Hey!” the green-colored dragon greeted as she smiled towards Leon. “What’s your name?”
“L-Leon,” the black-colored dragon replied nervously.

Everyone’s eyes widened as the girl pulled ‘The Alicorn Amulet’ from her large, shortalls pocket and handed it to Leon.
“I’m Fizzy,” she continued to say after handing the artifact over to Leon. “I think you’re the real winner for being so nice to me.”
SMOOCH
Leon’s face burned with a blush as Fizzy planted a big kiss upon his cheek.
“Tha-tha-thank you,” was all he could reply as he firmly held onto the amulet.
“I got to go home now,” said Fizzy. “Perhaps we play together sometime?”
“…,” Leon was speechless as he found himself drawn into her purple-colored eyes.
“He’d love to,” answered Nixi as she came behind her bashful son and proudly put her hand on his shoulder.
“Okay, Leon’s mommy!” she chirped. “I go home now! See you soon!”
“Eww!” groaned Parker as he watched his brother get all mushy over Fizzy. “Her cooties are making you act all gross.”
“Do you mind if I take this?” asked Spike as he approached Leon.
“…,” Leon was still at a loss for words as he passed ‘The Alicorn Amulet’ over to Spike.
“Nixi…?” Spike went on to ask. “Can you, uh, please turn me back to normal?”

Spike smiled as his wings reappeared upon his back.
“Thanks!” he said while beginning to take flight. “Now to get this back to where it is supposed to be.”
FLAP-FLAP-FLAP
“Does he know he is still in a diaper?” asked Parker as he watched Spike head skyward.
“Of course he does,” remarked Nixi. “He just probably likes to wear them as much as you two do and isn’t ready to take it off yet.”
“Mom…,” Leon trailed nervously. “I think I may need a new diaper.”
Nixi looked down to see that Leon’s diaper was sagging a bit towards his knees and had lost some of its gemstone-design, wetness indicators.
“Oh, my!” she gasped. “It seems all that excitement with Spike and your new friend found its way into your diapers.”
“Hehe,” teased Parker. “Mom’s going to change your diaper in front of everyone now.”
“Whoops!” gasped Nixi as Parker reminded her of how she and her boys were still in the middle of where The Hatchling Gauntlet had just come to an end. “I suppose I should do something about that.”

“Zecora!” cried Spike as he hurried in with ‘The Alicorn Amulet’. “I got it back before anything bad could happen.”
Zecora, who wore elegant, gold earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, took hold of the artifact in which Spike had brought to her.
“’The Alicorn Amulet’ you return,” she said with confusion. “Did Princess Ember change her mind on The Dragon Lands being safe from those its powers they’d yearn?”
“Huh?” wondered Spike. “So it wasn’t stolen from you?”
“Oh, dear, no,” the shaman replied. “I gave it to Smolder only a few days ago.”
“…,” Spike was filled with disbelief. Had he just gone through so much work and effort to get back ‘The Alicorn Amulet’ to now learn it was meant to be kept in The Dragon Lands?
“Ever since it was put into my care to hide,” she continued to say. “I created a potion that made the amulet’s power nullified.”
Spike was beginning to feel woozy after fully learning that everything he had just done to get back ‘The Alicorn Amulet’ was not necessary.
“So…,” he struggled to say. “It no longer is cursed, or gives a Unicorn phenomenal, cosmic, magical, super powers?”
“It is perfectly safe,” assured Zecora as she took notice of Spike’s diaper. “However, you need a new diaper before you start to chafe.”
“…,” Spike’s face turned beet-red as he realized he was still in the diaper that Nixi had put him into. Moreover, he saw that he must have accidentally wet it amidst all that had been going on between the start of The Hatchling Gauntlet and now.
“There’s no need to worry,” assured Zecora as she pointed towards a spot on her floor. “I’ll have you clean and changed in a hurry.”
The purple-colored dragon sighed as he resigned himself to having his diaper changed by the zebra shaman.

It was my pleasure to put together another story for you, Leon. You had so many good ideas that I wanted to use, too. Perhaps, at a future time, I can put together something that adds in some of the concepts that I just was not able to explore over the course of the story?
***
I really enjoy writing about the family-like dynamic of Nixi, Leon, and Parker. They all feel so alive to me and bring out a part of my talent that is so wonderful to work with. What you've created through the trio is truly magical and it is a real pleasure getting to help add to their adventures.
***
As always, please feel free to use this story however you would like to. It is yours and I hope you can find all sorts of ways to use it to show others the great characters that you've created in Leon, Parker, and Nixi. :)
