The biggest challenge, is replicating the color pencil style of coloring. Obviously, the comic was draw physically with actual colored pencils (and the excellent shading talent of the artist), so recreating such a style in GIMP is a very tall order. Tutorials for coloring in color pencil style are almost non-existent, just tutorials on how to make realistic pencil brushes that are meant more for drawing rather than filling in. I could try and redraw it in physical form, but it's been a long time since I've drawn physically, and I feel underequipped without GIMP's tools.

Someone asked me why I don't just use Krita? Because I've been using GIMP my entire digital art career. I have no experience with a drawing tablet and most of these more advanced art programs may not have the tool I use to draw, the path tool of GIMP. Without that tool, I can't draw reliably. I'm also not sure if these newer programs are compatible with Linux.

I've been fumbling around in GIMP, using tools like HSV noise and color threshold to try and create a color pencil like touch, but still very little luck. If anyone has any tips on how to do color pencil style drawing, please share below.
