(Once again, life has got me busy, so prepare for some bulk uploads from my DA)
"When it comes down to the Cult of the Gourmand and the Devourer, they seem to have one unit that is nearly identical that makes up a huge portion of their forces. That would be the "Gluttonous Thrall", even though there's a few striking differences between the two factions even if the units share the same name. The Gourmand's thralls are much more "fodder" units, something to swarm the enemy with. Usually having very little cloth and are using ill-taken care of weapons of fallen enemies as their metalworking is viciously poor as it's all the higher-grade materials are reserved for the elite units of the Cult of the Gourmand. These units are usually under indirect control of their prophets and can be infused with primal rage. The recruitment process however is all about breaking one's mind and then making them fall under the primordial hunger that lurks within. It is to note that many of these thralls can transform on the battlefield into repulsive looking mutants if they fall under a certain mental threshold. Actually, becoming stronger if they begin to panic.
The Gluttonous Thralls in the Cult of the Devourer are a lot "cleaner" in appearance. Usually having small bound pieces of armor and infused war paint that protects them in combat. Admittedly, thralls in the Cult of the Devourer are seldom used for such and are more general purpose. Gluttonous Thralls act as freelancers, doing whatever small jobs that the Cult needs at the time. They are also not mind controlled in any shape or form and nor do they transform into hideous monsters under pressure. It's odd because they're not even really "Thralls", but Ailith absolutely REFUSES to change the name of these units. Recruitment process is pretty standard as they act closer to that of "citizens" who belong to the Cult of the Devourer. If I had a say, I would've called them... Uh, I don't know... "Followers of the Devourer?"- You know, something that doesn't have "Thrall" in it... Bleh.
I think I'm starting to ramble again, but at least the "Followers" are at least very pleasant to keep around. Downside is that they're almost as hyperactive as Freya, and that scares me." ~Thomza Materia
Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Today I bring more lore about the Cult of the Gourmand and the Cult of the Devourer! Although today we're... Really focusing more on the Devourer, as the stuff about the Gourmand? It's basically all already been said with a few missing illustrations here and there. THANK GOODNESS! Finally! That's one bad guy faction that's been around for years in my setting, finally talked about fully, explained in logs, and fully illustrated. So now, we get to talk about what "came" from the Gourmand and shift over to the Cult of the Devourer, which yes, are part of the "Pillars" and I finally get to draw them! Starting off with their "Thrall" or as Thomza puts it "Follower" of the Devourer.
There would be more lore here, but uh- FA is really hard to organize my stuff, it's much cleaner on DA-- so uh-- Have a good day!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
Other Disclaimer: You are allowed to share my artwork as long as I am credited, but do not upload it anywhere else, edit it and or mark it as your own if that wasn't common sense. Reminder, my kobold (Scalebold) stuff has nothing to do with DnD, (Dungeons and Dragons), Pathfinder, that sort of stuff- it is meant to be an entirely alien setting.
Fun Factoid: Yes, the paint on their stomach is meant to imitate a "mouth stomach" or whatever you want to call it.

This is just so freaking cool to learn so much more about this world and it's lore, especially with the play with miltiple "factions" of the similar cult, it really makes this feel so much more closer to home as some groups would have the same name to another organizations(like Aldi)! I'm just absolutely in love with your works and I'm just so freaking excited to seeing so much more of your wonderfully adorable works in the future! Keep doing great!
