"Alright, this is going to be a bit of a weird one for me to write. Mostly as the idea of "Assisto-Bots" kind of freak me out despite their outwardly cute appearance. The Assisto-Bots are miniature Love-Bots created well, by the Love-Bots. The major difference however is they're treated as pets but have the same levels of sentience as their creators. These robot shells are modeled after some of the most popular household pets in our universe. Examples of course being cats, dogs, kippapillars or the more exotic drumble-dees. However, them being for recreational pets is not their only function as that's where the "assist" comes into the name.
Assisto-Bots are tasked with not only acting as an assistant for dumb labor, but also acting as a personal defense combat drone. Trust me, it's really scary when you realize the dog's ears have little missile launchers underneath them... Or when the Kippapillar blows a bubble that viciously explodes and can level a 12-story concrete building. They will also always have a permanent smile sketched on their face, a bubbly voice, but will sometimes tell you the vilest things imaginable. Assisto-Bot creation is also really unnerving for me.
A lot of Assisto-Bots are usually created wholesale like any other Love-Bot. Going through the same creation process, such as creating the mechanical biomesh ooze, pouring it into a set of armor (also known as a shell), and done, Love-Bot created. However, Love-Bots hate the idea of keeping alien and biological prisoners, and would rather turn their captors into Assisto-Bots. The same goes with any Love-Bot who broke the law as they don't have prisons... They have factories- and I can't describe how horrifying of a concept that is. As the Love-Bots will absolutely distribute someone's biomass into multiple Assisto-Bots, removing and replacing their personality and... I think I'm going to stop right there. I think I painted a pretty horrifying visage in your mind and why I think they're disturbing.
...Doctor Love thinks I'm starting to sound like Proto, and I think that's the biggest insult she's given to me yet! I mean, it's not my fault that I find the very concept kind of disturbing! I mean they're like maids or butlers trapped in armor and stripped of their individuality. I can't believe she thinks I'M the crazy one! Argh, that... She... Ugh... Forget it..."

Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Today I bring you the Assisto-Bots, they've been talked about here and there in the lore, but... I wanted to give Thomza to bring a whole "Comedic" and "Horror" spin on the entire idea behind them. As he finds the very concept (and so do I) of being turned into a Love-Bot horrifying and being transformed against one's will. I have always stated Skin to Scales has incredibly dark themes, but the comedy and the bright colors is what's meant to offset this. (As well as this entire thing being Thomza just quite literally ranting about it.)
...Until next time! Lmfao- thanks for reading!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.

Fun Factoid: The Assisto-Bots are pretty heavily inspired by Bosco from Deep Rock Galactic (combat and assistant aspect), and the Mechanoids from Rimworld (horror aspect), and even sprinkle a bit of classic Science Fiction into the mix. Although I do say "inspired" because as you can see they're not a direct rip-off and pretty far away from their counterparts. Although, I do at least want to credit my ideas of where they came from. I kind of wanted to make basic shapes and go from there.
Fun Factoid 2: This took me over 2 hours to draw, just because I kept scrapping the designs *OVER AND OVER AGAIN*, which was you know- a REAL JOY- I should take a break, I say it every now and then lmfao
