I've tried to describe my process of making vacuum forned 3D eyes for my fursuits but felt it might be easir to show people that might be interested.
The complete tutorail is posted to my FurNation site under the 'Techniques' link: http://www.furnation.com/wookiee/te.....ing/index.html

I updated the site to explain more how the box is made and included a picture of the eyes in place during the sculpting process.

Actually shadow board will not work. They are usually press board and will cave in during vacumming. My box is 1/4 plywood top and botton with 3/4 sides. The holes are 1/8" spaces 3/8" apart. Anything much larger than that can break the plastic(depending on it's thickness) and you will lose the vacuum preasure.
Baught it a long time ago but I think it's abs. We have a couple plastic supply places in Toronto. You buy the sheets in 4 feet by 8 feet sizes and have them cut down to your specifications. I remember paying about $20 per sheet where as the hobby stores charge $6 for a 6 inch by 12 insh piece. :/
