"The Plantaran Republic!? My mother told me stories of them... Once rulers of the galaxy, only to be mutually destroyed by the Love-Bots. Even now they still have an iron grip on the well-known parts of the universe. Although why are they here on Materia? Could it be because of Angel-Tech!? No matter, we cannot afford to make enemies with them, and especially with those pesky humans attacking us from all fronts! Someone grab my good suit and call upon the soldiers of ebony! We need to make a good first impression!" ~PiK (Captain PiK)
You know, I almost find it kinda crazy that despite everything, despite all the talk about the Plantaran Republic, I've... Never actually drawn them? I mean, I have, there's countless dummy sketches and ideas, but I never really... "finished" a piece that involved them in some sort of way. Their weird alien anthill like structures with a bunch of holes in them, their crazy demon and almost bug-like biology, creatures that are truly and fully alien, even if they look slightly humanoid, but are giant and almost 8-12 feet tall on average. Here in this illustration, we have a simple Plantaran Foot Soldier who is dressed fully in Power-Armor. There are no "grunts" in their army, and every soldier is basically a walking tank. Massive automatic plasma weapons, and the ground shall quake beneath them. There's a reason why before the A.I war (AKA The War of Love), they completely dominated the galaxy. Even with most of their soldiers and armada fleets depleted, they are still a force to be reckoned with.
Fun Fact: Most Plantarans refuse to wear helmets as they believe showing the enemy their true faces will strike terror into them. Although in all reality, most Plantaran heads and horn shapes are so unique that it's really hard to make personalized helmets for all of them.
Other than that? Thanks for reading everyone! Have a nice day!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales Universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
