"It's time for a touchy subject, and that would be talking about the "Cult of the Stars" also known as the "Holy Order", they were blasphemers, and "The Stars" are the reason dragons have mostly gone extinct before Thomza's arrival. The false gods known as "The Stars" ruled with more than an iron fist, but so did many of their followers. For centuries Scalebolds have served false prophets, scarring them for life, turning them into religious barbarians for the punishments from their gods were far worse than death. Once our foe, now under a new banner and as our ally, but I will not forget or forgive the many things they had done. Let us hope that the mighty Tiamat and the Mute God can guide them into a new light." ~Captain PiK
I feel like this is one of the more "serious toned" illustrations of the setting, it's mostly Captain PiK talking about the Scalebolds after the War against the Stars, AKA: The Ultrinian War. During this time, Captain PiK did his best to stay out of the warfare between The Warrior of the Pillars and even the Holy Order because he was in the middle of fighting Angel-Tech, Yggdrasil and Nidhogg all at once. That if he were to fight these "religious barbarians" as he would call them, he would be attacked from all fronts. Fortunately, they stayed neutral through most of the war until the Stars directly wanted to intervene and force Captain PiK's own armada to fight this battle against the Warrior of the Pillars. Captain PiK, already swearing allegiance to UBiL (a god among the pillars) was then forced to battle against the Stars directly and their massive sprawling empire. Despite the technological advancements, Captain PiK still had an incredibly hard time, but was thankfully backed up with The Warrior of the Pillars and soon various branches of Yggdrasil would fall off and fight by his side. The Cult of the Stars completely dominated most if not all Scalebold populations, and the only faction that broke off would bet he Warrior of the Pillars. Which were, actual barbarians who escaped the cities and would soon lay siege to them with the Dragons returning to the realm of Materia once more...
Once defeated and their gods dead, the Scalebolds were forced under the banner of the Warrior of the Pillars. Many did not like this and broke off into various outer cults such as the "Cult of the Falling Dragon" and "The Resting Stars", with the "Resting Stars" believing their gods will come back and they will viciously hunt down heretics who are trying to "escape their judgement and failing them." Meanwhile the Cult of the Falling Dragon...
Now if you want more information, you can take a look at my galleries, but if you also want a good start on who and what Scalebolds are as well as the warrior of the pillars, you can check that out on my deviantart page, such as the: Scalebolds: The Warriors of the Pillars and the warrior of the pillars, The Pillars Shall Love and Protect [Mythology] and even the post about the Cult of the Falling Dragon
One more thing if you may have noticed I actually decided to format this data-log differently from the others. In fact, I think I'm going to change how I format them from now on too as I feel like it's getting too... Same-y, and it's not allowing me to experiment as much with drawing, tone, etc... The original idea behind it was that they were all going to have the same "format" so it can be easily flipped through, and you could tell what is what, but now... I think I'm going to experiment a little more instead of it all having the same resolution, this being an update on that
Thank you for reading everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day and there will be more to come!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
