Yet another chapter of this neverending nightmare I mean story of old. Allow me to reiterate that I was like 11
----
About an hour later, Falco and Fox got in the truck, and drove to Denali's house. Denali was on the front porch, with some suitcases and bags in her paws. Falco helped her pack the stuff in the back, then drove on to the store.
"I'm so excited!" Denali squealed.
"So am I." Fox said.
"Me too!" Falco exclaimed. "And are you sure none of you guys wanna sit upfront?" He asked, since both Fox and Denali were in the back seat.
"We're good, thanks though." Denali replied.
"Yeah." Fox agreed.
"Okay then." Falco said as he pulled into the parking lot at the store.
"Hey, perfect timing!" Denali exclaimed.
Firefox had steped out of the store carring ten shoping bags in her paws. She shoved the bags in the trunk, and hoped into the front seat.
"We got everythin'?" Falco asked.
"Yup. So, let's get this show on the road!" Firefox exclaimed.
Falco drove out of the parking lot, and in the direction of the highway.
"Oh, Fox! I almost forgot!" Denali said as she took out a small container from her purse. She handed Fox a chocolate chip cupcake.
Firefox rolled her eyes and gritted her teeth. Falco nudged her with his elbow. Firefox turned to look at Falco, who was smiling. Firefox smiled back, and looked out the front window.
Back in the back seat, Fox took the cupcake, and Denali smiled brightly. Suddenly, Fox's stomach growled loudly. Denali giggled. "Don't just sit there and stare at the cupcake." She joined.
Fox smiled and ate the cupcake.
"Hey, this is a good song!" It was Firefox.
Falco turned up the volume on the radio which was playing the begining of "Sweet Home Alabama."
Firefox nodded her head and sang the lyrics with everyone else as they rolled down the highway. The four friends listened to song after song, but sleep eventually crept up to the three who were'nt driving. Falco kept awake by listening to songs on his IPod. The minutes droned on and on as Falco drove.
Only once did Falco fall asleep during the long drive. His beak hit the horn as he knealt forward, which woke him up imiditly. Falco shook his head and looked at Firefox sleeping soundly, turned up the volume on his IPod, and pressed on down the road.
Falco only thought Firefox was asleep. She was actually just resting her eyes.
The next thing she knew, Falco was shaking her awake. "Wake up, sleepy head! We're almost there!" He exclaimed.
"Yay!" Denali exclaimed from the back.
Firefox turned to see Denali, who had a book in her paws, and a sleeping Fox's head resting on her shoulder. Firefox stretched and looked out her window. Sure enough, they were in Andover Square, minutes away from Holiday Camplands. "You're still awake." She said to Falco. "I half expected to find us in a ditch in the middle of nowhere." Firefox joked.
Falco laughed as he turned down the road that led to the gate of the camp site.
Fox had woken up now, and was yawning and stretching. "Are we there yet?" He asked.
"Almost!" Falco replied. Finally, they were inside the camp, driving to a street named Bonanza, where their trailer was located.
Falco parked in the grass near the camper, and took the key out of the ignition.
Denali squeeked excitedly as she pushed the door open. Everyone climbed out of the truck, and walked up to the trailer. As Falco fumbled with the keys, Denali excitedly hopped around, Fox yawned and sleepily landed against he old wooden picnic table, while Firefox only stood in Falco's shadow. Finally, Falco opened the door, and they all filed in excitedly. They had'nt been there since they were ten!"
"Well, should we the stuff outta the truck?" Fox asked a short while later.
The four filled out, lugged their stuff in, and set it all down on their beds. Denali got the fold-out couch, Fox on the double bed in the back, and Falco was sleeping in the bunk beds with Firefox. Falco was now unpacking all the food and storing it in the small kitchen.
Firefox suddenly stood up from the small table. "I forgot my backpack in the truck." She walked out to the truck, and opened the door to the passenger seat. When she turned around, Fox was standing right in front of her.
Firefox jumped, but then narrowed her eyes. She started walking towards the trailer, but Fox stoped her. "Are you still mad at me?" He whispered in her ear.
Firefox's ear twitched as Fox's voice fluttered through her head. Her heart skiped a beat. "Yes." Firefox answered, and began to walk forwards again.
Fox grabed her paw in his, and pulled her back gently.
He's so…..strong, yet gentle. Firefox shook her head. What am I thinking?! She asked herself.
"No, you're not." Fox asured her.
Firefox refused to look at him, and did'nt reply.
Fox put his paws on her shoulders, and turned her around. Firefox let herself be turned, but did'nt look at Fox's face. But she almost fainted when Fox's paw slid up to her cheek, and very gently turned her head.
Firefox got lost in Fox's bright, green eyes, which were now locked on her blue-green ones. Fox was smiling warmly down at her. Unexpectedly, Firefox threw her arms around Fox, and hugged him tightly. "I forget you." She whispered.
Fox rested his head on hers, and put his arms around her. Seconds later, Firefox put her paws on Fox's chest, and pushed him away from her, firmly but gently.
"No one hears about this." Firefox said.
"Right." Fox agreed as he followed Firefox back into the trailer.
Falco had made sandwhiches for lunch, which was now set on the table. Denali was siting next to Falco, which left the other side for Firefox and Fox. They sat down, and ate lunch together.
