I admire Aurelia. She's experienced so much pain, had to make choices that would break most people, and though she's so tired, she is wholly unwilling to bend. Giving into her anger and disciplining Rex perhaps would have felt divine in the moment, but she realizes he's just a child! He wasn't taught better. And what is the better revenge? To strike an oppressor's child, or plant the seed that might make that child an ally? It's difficult, but we must seize every opportunity to live our ideals. To establish what can be made of the future we wish to build, today.
