I uh
spent too much this month
I have commissions coming too (Like, by the end of the week)
Legacy Tarn
I mean he's fine I guess? I think I was just blown away by MMC Eris because the flaws of this guy stand out. Especially his shoulders, god his shoulders. Still, he looks pretty cool, and his tank mode is different enough to Eris.
Cybetron Primus
So my landlords were renovating (still are), and uni was off so I went to go see the parents. They were busy one day so I found this vintage toy shop in a nearby town. Got this guy as a bargain. 100% complete and all. He feels weirdly small now that Titan figures exist, but he's still about the size of a modern commander. Or a football. Like the other figures of his time, he's nice and weighty, but his articulation is a bit restrictive.
DX9 Dutch Optimus Prime
Got this guy at the vintage shop too. Third party legends figures have intrigued me for a while, so I nabbed him to keep on my desk. He's a funky lil guy, much more accurate than any official offerings, but he's still undoubtably a Legends figure, with the concessions that come with it. Still, he's pretty great for what he is.
Studio Series Freezer
New character alert! This guy is gonna be in the new movie but otherwise we dunno anything about him. He kinda reminds me of Frenzy from the 2007 movie, but wayyyy angrier lol. None of his alt modes really do it for me, but he looks good combined with Scourge. GOD I need Scourge.
Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Arcee
Again, this figure has a lot of concessions to make her a Legends-scale figure. I hope they make a deluxe later, but as she stands she's certainly not bad. It helps that IMO the ROTB look is a step up from her previous movie appearances in pretty much every way.
Studio Series Battletrap
Man, this guy is built like a fridge. He's got a very imposing shelf presence for his size. A lot of people have issues with how fiddly his transformation is, but honestly I've found as long as you're careful it's not too bad. The way he folds up leaves his truck mode unusally small for a Voyager class figure though.
Studio Series Cheetor
So this is our first Beast Wars Movie character! I'm not sure why they went with the Beast Machines look, or made him a Voyager, but he does look much better in person. He cleans up very well in both modes, but his cheetah mode has very restricted shoulders, and I wish they did more with his bot-mode hands.
Armada Unicron
So after I got Primus I was curious and ended up on Ebay. Found this guy complete for even less! Or so I thought - he was missing a skirt piece so I had to find one online, bringing the price up to the same as Primus. Whilst being older, I think he's somewhat better? Sure his planet mode is a little wonkier, but his articulation is better, and man there's so much more gimmicks to him. He came with Dead-End, who isn't pictured here, but seems weirdly complex for a minicon?
Studio Series Airazor
Ehhh kinda not feeling this one. She's basically just a worse version of the Kingdom figure - sure the detailing and colours are nice, but the Falcon mode has pretty poor proportions, and I really don't like her head sculpt. Fortunately, there's an alternative version coming soon which looks much better.
