Weaknesses: Anything that can siphon her mana or cancel out her magic will render her unable to use it. At her level of experience, she can also be rash in whatever actions she decides to take.

Backstory: Merlyn was born into a wealthy family of mages in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her parents were both accomplished mages in their own right, and Merlyn's childhood was filled with luxury and privilege. Merlyn's family even gained fame for providing refuge to people affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. However, Merlyn was never content with simply being a kid born into the lap of luxury. She was always looking for ways to test her limits and be creative with her powers.

As a teenager, Merlyn became a fan of Starshard, another red panda mage in Coast City, Georgia. Merlyn was enchanted by her wide reaching knowledge in many magic disciplines, and she decided she wanted to be a magical jack of all trades herself. She also had admiration for the graceful martial arts prowess of Starshard’s partner in heroism Jade Fang. She even aspired to have such prowess as well.

All the way up to 20 years of age, Merlyn had been training with different masters of different martial arts disciplines. But none of their knowledge combined could top Jade Fang. Her parents continued to train her on the magic front, but their knowledge was seemingly outclassed to that of Starshard. She decided she would leave home and head for Coast City, hoping to earn the tutelage of her two idols. She even aspired to fight evil and defend goodness like they did. Her parents were not having it, for the work of a superhero is dangerous, terrifying, and painful. Merlyn didn’t care; she felt she was born for it.

Merlyn commissioned a costume of her own design online, which her parents reluctantly financed. After the costume arrived, she set out for Coast City; the move also financed by her reluctant parents.

She arrived one evening in mid August and discovered the suburbs of the city under attack by sporadic mobs of far-right human nationalists. She donned her costume and jumped straight into action.

She managed to save a few people who were trapped in their homes, unable to flee the violent humans trying to break in. But, she and the heroes already present in the inner city were outnumbered and the human nationalists were poised to overwhelm the city.

And then… out of the night sky came a new hero. A hero more powerful than Merlyn had ever seen. He was crazy, he was whimsical, he was clever, and he was very handsome….
