Oh right make sense seeing as their floating island making easy for the wind catch them also speaking of I do have idea on how drekir can “fly” and that by using wind magic to create a updraft on which they ride up to essential glide to island higher than one there on (though this can only be done by wind affinity drekir due fact it requires them create focus updraft that they can glide in).
The Islands are actually moved on the wills of the Bal that holds them up, Sila: Breath of the World
And himir (Sky Drekir) don't really fly, but they do have gliding wings and while in theory wind magic would work for helping them stay afloat, its a hard and dangerous form of magic to learn. Sure some wind mages in the skyles would navigate the region that way but most would probably just glide from higher to lower islands, wait for their island to rise high, and then glide again.
That or take the sky rivers that worm through the Sky Islands by canoe
