In the previous chapter, Roffil revealed what he's been up to lately: Researching the strange storms! Remember those? Yeah, they've been getting worse over time, and it's pretty worrying. He's made some pretty impressive progress! And one pretty massive blunder. It seems he's somehow determined that Master Tola is actually not from Terra at all, but a strange world on the other side of the storms! That's not the blunder, the blunder was deciding that means he's a demon, and the other world is a World of Chaos that's sending the storms as an attempt to destroy all of Terra. And he's successfully banished Tola back to whence he came. How is Princess going to make it through this new development without the most important supportive figure in her life?
It's weird writing sections of the story where I'm not present, but I wanted to show a bit of the reaction to Princess disappearing, as well as some of how Tola is getting along on Earth. I worry the sections, especially the dialogue, come off as a bit stiff, but if I didn't address some of it now, it'd be a nightmare to have an exposition dump later. Maybe it's a little bit of a spoiler to admit that Tola will get a chance to tell all this to Princess, but... I mean, I may be cruel, but you didn't really think I would split the Duo up forever, did you?
This chapter weighs in at 6580 words, bringing the grand total to 118,404, or 13,593 for Book 2. Also, I'm glad I was able to get this out so soon, I know I left it on a heck of a cliffhanger last chapter. My abdominal pain's been relatively steady the last few days, so I was able to get more writing in than I expected! ...Here's hoping it stays that way so I can get the next chapter out soon, since I left it on another cliffhanger? >.>
